There are always customers at Russ Restaurant every time we drive through Wagoner. Now I know why. It is a fantastic little diner. The best in town. Excellent food, friendly service served in a cozy clean little building. They open at 11AM, so no breakfast. Serving lunch and dinner with everything you could want in a small diner. Daily specials, burgers and pies. Fried Catfish and fried chicken is their specialty.

Today’s special was chicken fried chicken. Add mashed potatoes with cream gravy, and fried okra then double the order. That is what my wife and I had. It was excellent. Blackberry pie was available, but we were stuffed.
Excellent friendly service!

Great home cooking food! Most of the food made here is not frozen or out of a can. The onion rings were amazing and large, but the fried okra portion was on the tiny side. Overall it was a good experience.

The service was below average from the young skinny dark haired server, but the other server was great and helped the younger server (who liked to be on her phone too much to notice the needs of her customers).

Wonderful restaurant, first visit as I was passing through town. Very friendly service and really good tea. I tried one of their specialties, the chicken fried steak, with fried okra and a loaded baked potato. Excellent all the way around. Loved it!!

I order through the drive-through all the time. Those ladies that work, the drive-through or some of the kindest. Service is always great. My order is never messed up and the food is always great! This is a really good restaurant to visit and the quality of the catfish is excellent, highly recommend!

I was visiting the area and craving some fried chicken so I happened upon this place and ordered a family meal for pick up.

I got there a bit early so I waited in the lobby area. It looks like a family-owned small business and it was quite busy with several people walking in for a dine-in experience and a few pick-up orders in the works.

I was a bit impatient and wanting to get back to the family since it took me a while to find this place and I’ve traveled a bit far from home base. When I saw a bag ready for my receipt and no one telling me my order was ready, I asked if my order was ready and expecting to hurry out of there.

To my surprise, it was just the sides! When we finally ate it, my wife actually made a good comment about the portions and the taste. She usually gets very guilty when eating fried chicken but it was a great dinner!

Here’s what I have to say about this home town diner… we called ahead (only about 30 minutes) and reserved seating for over 20 people! They were super accommodating and had everything ready before we arrived. They have a back room that was perfect. The food is fresh and just what you would expect a country diner to offer. You get allot of food for the money, for sure.

The staff went out of their way to make our time there enjoyable. Hamburgers, catfish, or chicken fried steak… and all the fixins!

Interesting evening, will be awhile till we go back. Food was lackluster at best, no one ate more than 1/4 of their food, major bummer because we waited over an hour after ordering our food for it to arrive at the table, the waitress had our meal comped which was nice considering. Ranch dressing 7/10.
Everyone enjoyed the spicy cheese curds.
Stay away from the shrimp, they were tasteless and previously frozen. Eww.

Honest Review from a food critic- My husband and I came here to dine when we were in the area, the staff here was really nice, our waitress checked on us, it was clean on the inside, the food was decently priced, I got chicken strips with hush puppies and a side salad, everything I got was super tasty, my husband got catfish, shrimp, hush puppies & fries. He was really looking forward to the catfish but he said the catfish fell short as it was super bland, there didn’t look to be any seasoning on it and undercooked, the fries had no seasoning either they look to be frozen fries out of a bag, he really liked the shrimp though & hush puppies he would definitely get the shrimp & hush puppies again. Overall, we would definitely come here again because it was a very inviting experience we just don’t recommend the catfish or fries unless they start seasoning and cooking them right.
