We stayed 2 nights at RBC while we explored multiple redwood forests. It was the perfect location for this; you can travel easily to Jedediah Smith State Park and Redwood National Park. It's beautifully situated within a relatively short drive to all of these places, as well as to the coast in Trinidad, where we got a delicious breakfast at the Beachcomber cafe.

The rooms are really nicely updated with comfortable beds, adorable green velvet couches. The bathrooms have everything you need and there are coffee makers in all rooms. I loved the extra touches, like popcorn in the rooms and the fire pit with all the supplies you need to roast marshmallows. Additionally, the owner sent a super helpful text prior to check-in with all kinds of useful tips about where to get meals, how to use the campfire, etc.

The owner was super responsive when we reached out with (minor) concerns.

This place is definitely worth a visit if travelling to Redwood National Park or anywhere in the surrounding area! Our room was tastefully decorated, clean, and cosy, allowing us time to rest and recover after a couple long days on the road! We also enjoyed how close it was to the famous “tall trees grove” hike as there isn’t a ton of accommodation around the trail. But what really made our stay was the lovely owner, Carrie, who made us feel so welcomed and cared for. Thanks again!

We had a fantastic stay at Roosevelt Base Camp in Orick! The 2-room suite was perfect for our family of four—clean and thoughtfully decorated. The location couldn’t have been better—so close to some of the most beautiful hikes in the Redwoods. The owner was incredibly accessible and helpful throughout our stay, which made everything even smoother. Highly recommend this motel if you’re exploring the area!

From the street you might be fooled into thinking this is just an old-school strip motel. But on the inside you'll find a lovely fresh refurbished room with comfortable new furnishings and modern shower room all done with taste and simple style. A great base for seeing the giants of Redwoods National Park. Great pizza van across the road in the evenings too!

Wonderful spot about a 5 minute drive from the entrance to Redwood National Park. The owner (while we never met) is super friendly and helpful. The available rooms have been recently tastefully remodeled and there is a self-service fire pit on the property that made for a fun way to settle down at the end of the day.

Orick is a little out of the way and be ready to pack in some food, rely on a small convenience store across the street, or drive about a half hour to the closest restaurant. There is also a pizza food truck across the street open for lunch.

Highly recommend staying here for easy access for the park and ocean - especially if you prioritize easy park access and getting a little away from the larger towns. Great experience.

This is way past due..But this place is awesome to stay at and Carrie and her staff are so lovely. We stayed here for our wedding ceremony nearby and Carrie went above and beyond to help us make our special day even more special and she is forever captured in our memories when we share stories of the amazing day! From our stay to the location, and Carrie’s kindness! We are grateful and will def revisit for now wedding anniversaries to come. Great attention to detail! Extremely comfortable bed. Lovely room with a cute coffee bar and linens. Great recommendations for nearby restaurants.

The motel looks very simple from the outside but the rooms have been recently renovated and are very cozy.

The rooms look just like the photos, so cute! I loved the mattress, I slept like a baby. It was so helpful to have the little kitchenette, and we had a ton of fun sitting around the campfire with family. I can't wait to visit again!
