Had a late start, so stopped without a reservation and office closed, but the owner was very helpful, caring, and attentive and was able to let me stay the night. Area is pristine...the river is very relaxing as it has just enough flow to keep things moving around. Lots of trees and pretty much unoccupied which is a shame. They even offer cabins! The only downside is the inability to make reservations online, however they are quick to respond. Will definitely be in one of my favorable sites.

We stayed at River Bend for Thanksgiving 2023. We rented two cabins, the Riverbirch and the Lighterknot. The Riverbirch is the larger of the two and was very clean and perfect for the two of us plus a one year old. We couldn’t have asked for more privacy, amenity, or for a better view! We will definitely be staying here again, specifically that cabin if we can. There are really no other options in Newton, but we had an exceptional experience!

A beautiful relaxing place in Southern Georgia. There is not much around as far as eating and shopping, but we love it that way. There is a small grocery store and a Dollar General, and that was all we needed. The kitchenettes are fully equipped. There are full hookups for RVs too as well as large family cabins. They are all spaced for privacy.

This place is fabulous! Francis is the picture of souther charm. Even though the place had just been ravaged by a hurricane, she went out of her way to get us an RV site ready. The storm has taken out several tees, but they have a crew working to get the place tidy. It's so beautiful now, I can only imagine how great it will look when they get it all cleaned up. The river front RV spots are hands down the coolest place we have ever stayed in our RV. We are spaced far away from other people and are right down by the Flint River. If you need to use the facilities, I would ask for a spot closer to the office, or rent a golf cart. Very animal friendly. Amazing place to come relax.

This was a 3 nights, 4 day stay- in the Owl Cabin! We couldn’t have asked for a better view and more comfortable cabin! We we’re able to kayak, fish, walk the beautiful grounds and my daughter enjoyed the park/swings. We did bring all our own food and was easily able to prepare all food in the kitchen/grill. We can’t wait to go back and plan on making this an annual trip!

Very nice cabin! Love how clean it was and how nice it smelled.. however for $200 there isn’t much to do here other than the playground. Also the beds were hard as a rock, you might as well just been sleeping on the ground. Cabin had all dishes/pots/pans you would need. If they got new beds I would definitely come back.

"Our family uses the well appointed main building for our Annual Family Gathering in December...next year in April when the woods are green and less chance of rain.

The kitchen and rest rooms are clean and well appointed.

There are a lot of camp and RV sites and hookups.

The roads in and out are well kept and the grounds, while rustic; are immaculate.

Open all year. Check Google for particulars. I know that you also enjoy being near the Flint River and I believe there are tubbing and fishing opportunities here.

Women's bathroom out of soap by Saturday afternoon, the sole shower door does not close and no light in shower. Very pretty location on river though with boat ramp.
