Great small venue for live music, art and nature lovers. Nice art gallery. Great music indoor in winter, outdoor in warmer temps. Pet friendly.
Bring your own food, drinks. Never stayed over night because I'm local, but had heard amazing things about their accomodations. Great night with family and friends.

First time at this venue and it certainly won't be the last. They feature great local bands in their barn and outdoor seating (with tables) for the guests. You can bring in your own food and beverages. It was a fantastic evening.

Deborah and Terry have created a truly unique experience for their visitors. The rustic property is secluded, wooded and quiet. You will find over a mile of walking paths with river views, native singing birds and other wildlife. We stayed at the Cedar House, which was beautifully decorated with craftsman style furnishings, a comfortable bed, and a full kitchen stocked with essentials. The living room was cozy and warm with a gas fireplace, perfect for our winter stay.||||Beyond the relaxing accommodations, Terry and Deborah let us enjoy their expansive art gallery as a common space to work. Their prolific artwork is scattered about the whole property, including in the homes. We really enjoyed being surrounded by their creativity.||||To top it off, we took a few small steps over to the gallery one evening for an awesome live band performance. The gallery and music venue was open for offsite visitors, and they had a nice turnout of around 75 guests. They had plenty of appetizers and brick oven pizzas on site, made to order. In the summer they hold concerts outside in one of their charming barns.||||Riverdog was a retreat; different from any other weekend trip I've had. Our hosts were so welcoming and accommodating, and they've created a lovely environment for themselves and their guests. I look forward to visiting again and again!

My husband and I stayed in The Riverview Suite for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. We had a lovely visit. The suite was beautiful, rustic on the outside but modern and comfortable inside, filled with unique art work. The bed was very comfortable as well. We enjoyed walking the grounds and visiting with the dogs and cats. I especially enjoyed reading on the front porch. Don’t miss a visit to the gallery while you are there. We truly hope to get back to visit sometime.

While we did not stay in their accommodations, we did attend one of their weekend musical performances and it was a wonderful experience. You can arrive early and bring snacks and beverages to have before the concert. The concert we attended was in the early Spring so it was held inside. Once it warms up their concerts are held in a natural outdoor setting. River dog retreat is set in the most peaceful, serene setting so if you like the outdoors,nature, and entertainment nearby you will not want to miss coming here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Settlers house at Riverdog. Terry was a wonderful host meeting us late in the evening and providing all the little things that made the house our temporary home. Think a pantry with ground coffee and condiments. A fresh baked loaf of bread with butter and jam in the fridge. The house itself is lovely with great water and modern heating/cooling. The space was great for us and I highly recommend the place if you need a quiet spot near Oberlin.
