Positives. Staff were helpful and rooftop bar was nice. Pool area looked nice, although I didn’t use since I only stayed one night.

Negatives. Room smelled like literal sewer gas, as another reviewer mentions. The rug looked very dirty and worn. It definitely needs replaced. Hot water tap didn’t work. Hotel is non smoking but I was in my balcony room and started to smell the distinct smell of pot, and sure enough the room two doors down someone was smoking pot on their balcony. The smell permeated my room, even though the door to the balcony was shut. I told the front desk and they said they would say something. I never smelled it again thankfully.
The street noise is unbelievable loud!!! Like how have hardly any reviews mentioned this!

All of the above negatives do not warrant the price point of this hotel. Definitely would not recommend staying here.

Would stay here again in a heartbeat!! The location was great - 15 minute drive from downtown, 15 minute drive from Camelback, 15 minute drive from Phoenix mountains. Lots of great eateries around with a nice grocery store a block or two away. Not to mention the amazing cafes and bookstore/coffee shop in the adjoining building!

Karina at Lylo took amazing care of me during the week, helping me try all the phenomenal cocktails on the poolside menu. She was fabulous!

Isabella at Say When rooftop bar (connected to hotel) also made our stay so memorable! She was so personable and funny and made great recommendations for the area.

The room was stylish and clean, and the staff was helpful and welcoming as well!

This is such a cute hotel that really feels like an oasis in the desert. The ambiance and vibe were all really great. The staff was extremely helpful. I enjoyed the welcome popsicles and the pool was great. The room was fairly clean and the tv had good options. The comforter kind of freaked me out as it looked like it was growing mold (see photo), but I just tried to think it was the cotton in the comforter all bunched up, at least that made me sleep better.

Why does no one talk about how NOISY the busy road is in their reviews? This hotel is cute, but it's more like a motel with the road-side, self-service, out-door hallways vibe.

CONS: I felt mislead when I booked the reservation for a king balcony that overlooked the "garden" as told to me by the phone reservation agent, when it actually looks over a parking lot that is next to a very busy street. I never used the balcony for that reason.

Also, I asked to be on the top floor so I didn't have to hear footsteps above. Those notes were not in my reservation, and come to find out that the top floor of rooms has a bar over it. Thankfully that night it was closed, but the few times I hear staff walking up there, it was VERY loud.

Thankfully the HVAC in the room created some white noise to drown out the street, but I prefer not to have the air blowing directly on my face as I sleep.

The cold water faucet knob for the sink didn't work.

PROS: I was looking for a cool, modern place to stay in Phoenix. The look is definitely there. The room was clean and beautiful. However, the scent of the cleaning products used was so pungent, I had to air out the room for a couple of hours.
The bed was comfortable.

The people who helped me at the front desk in the evening and morning were the best part of the experience. I enjoyed the popsicle. I wasn't able to use the pool during my stay, but it looked very cute.

Just a few steps away were some good eateries, coffee and a very cool bookshop.

I won't be coming back here to stay on my next Phoenix trip though.

My husband and I were not very familiar with the Phoenix Uptown area but the price and reviews of this hotel convinced us to stay here and it did NOT disappoint! The hotel has a very “Palm Springs” vibe — from the design and decor, the greenery, to the pool area and common area music. The pool is heated and there is a hot-tub which was very convenient for our winter stay. The rooms are also very modern, clean and spacious.

Only thing we would suggest to change:
There is an additional daily “experience” charge of $35 that is mentioned only upon checking in (not when you book the reservation). It includes the parking fee, a complimentary cocktail per person and popsicles. My recommendation would be that they add this amount to the initial price and offer it as an added perk instead of throwing you off once you are there and having no choice but to pay it. Other than that, everything was great and we will definitely be staying again in the future.

My stay at the Rise Uptown was absolutely amazing. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. I was even given a free upgrade to the largest room, a bottle of wine, plus homemade infused popsicles during my stay—which were so good!

My room smelled fresh, was spotless, and had such a cozy vibe. There also is an AppleTV, which is a plus! The hotel itself is in a perfect location, with a beautiful pool area and a fun atmosphere. It’s also surrounded by other hotels and offers a complimentary drink during happy hour. Plus, it’s just 15 minutes from downtown and only five minutes from plenty of restaurants, shops, and more.

Overall, a 10/10 experience—I can’t wait to come back!

Great location for a hotel for where we were traveling- up to Sedona and Grand Canyon. Wasn’t impressed with the looking like “low income housing” behind the hotel which you have to drive by every time you go to/from hotel into/out of the back lot.

Service was overall good. No ice machine so you always had to ask for ice as well as ask to have your firepit turned on. At night especially, service was SLOW.

Room was super clean and we loved how every 2 days, it would get refreshed as we were gone 🙂 we loved how we could airplay to the TV!

A big complaint we have is PLEASE tell guests before arriving that they have to pay a “resort fee” daily- around $35 a day per room. It’s not specified anywhere so guests check in and of course feel obligated to pay! One of the things it paid for apparently was a free cocktail from 4-6 pm at Lylo… but nothing is specified so we ordered a drink expecting it to be free- but apparently it’s a specific cocktail you have to order. Please tell guests this!

Popsicles were great! Also loved the plants around the hotel area!

Simply put... no thank you! Originally, I picked this hotel because it was a convenient option for my early morning flight, but the hotel staff were rude and unhelpful. The hotel's signage was difficult to find at night, and checking in was awkward due to the hotel's location and lack of information given. The front desk staff explained that there was an additional $125 incidental fee billed to me, which would be returned to my card after the stay. The hotel also provided a parking pass for my car, which was not offered until I requested one.

Upon arrival to my room, it was uncomfortably humid and the secondary security lock was not functioning properly. The thermostat was tucked in on the other side of the TV (which only has AppleTV and you need to log into your own services), but the lock was hanging from the wall by 1.5 of 3 screws. I sent my initial complaint through the text service, but I had to go down to he front desk to request to switch rooms due to the lock's malfunction and not feeling safe with it remaining like this, and the front desk staff informed me that all rooms with a king-sized bed were sold out. Thankfully, the maintenance man fixed the lock after two trips.

After I took my shower, I noticed a leak below the vanity, which dripped water on the floor and required extra towels to clean up. The same maintenance man took three trips to assess the leak, and however, I was concerned about being charged the incidental fee of $125. Unfortunately, the hotel's maintenance man was unable to resolve the issue, and I was left feeling unsatisfied with my stay. Under the cabinet, was disgusting and grossed me out so much. By this time, it was really late especially with an early morning flight. The hotel's front desk person was more concerned with getting the maintenance man in the next morning than the inconvenience of keeping me up by texting to ask when they could come to fix the leak the next day.

Overall, the hotel is not suitable for light sleepers, as the rooms are tight and the sheets are rough and loud. I heard my upstairs neighbors flush the toilet and it sounded like it was mine. Also, the hotels on a busy street and you will hear traffic and the street car most of the night. The next morning, water was still pooling at the base of the vanity door and dripped onto the towels. The new front desk person had no idea about the issues from the night person and only refunded the "experience fee" of $33 with tax. In my opinion, the hotel's lack of comfort and luxury make it not recommendable for those seeking a relaxing luxurious stay. This experience was particularly disappointing for my birthday trip, and left me missing the Sedona portion of my trip. I believe that these two maintenance concerns should have been caught before a guest's stay not during.
