Room was good, a little hard to get cleaning service and I usually had to specifically request it. The front desk staff were probably the best I've ever encountered. Abraham is a star and was quite possible the best thing about staying at the Residence. Great location, if you're a runner, jogging back in the adjacent neighborhoods is easy and relatively safe. Would go back here.

Do NOT stay here! Bed bug bites on my ankles from a quick overnight stay. By far the dirtiest Marriott I have ever stayed at (normally you can't go wrong at a Marriott, right). Place smelled throughout (except in the lobby that is remodeled). Halls screamed old hotel. Pics on website are not representative of the hotel. Paid $220 for a room (before taxes, etc) and it felt like a $120/night room. I've stayed all over America in rural towns in no name hotels and this ranks at the bottom - and its a Marriott? Terrible!

Manager wrote to me to apologize to say the area I was in needed "some refreshment" - they are in the midst of trying to remodel the place but from the looks of the dumpsters in the back, they need to rip everything out to make it Marriott quality.

Do not choose this hotel. There are many other ones close by to choose from. No security at the hotel. Random people were coming in from the side entrances. This hotel does allow pets under 35 pounds but I saw many large dogs well over 35 pounds. The front desk did nothing.!I also saw guest using the side and rear doors to sneak in there pets so I’m sure they didn’t pay the additional $100 per day for pets. That extra charge is used to shampoo the carpet and do other necessary cleaning after a pet is in the room. The breakfast bar area was always lacking items. I told the worker who works the breakfast bar area but seems that he was overwhelmed and couldn’t replenish in a timely manner and some not at all.. Also there were dogs in the breakfast area while guest were eating, staff did nothing. I would never stay here again! Lastly, breakfast is horrible

We stayed here 2x, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
The girl working the counter was not friendly, rude and seemed lazy. She just did not want to be there. It was apparent we were annoying her free time. I was so happy to see a fresh smiling face of an older woman Christmas Morning working the desk. To you, Thank you. You are the reasons we returned New Year’s Eve. Walking in the door New Year’s Eve we were greeted with a smile and enthusiasm from the young man behind the counter.
Great Breakfast and clean room.

See below on room cleanliness and breakfast. The exercise bike in the gym was missing a pedal. As a Platinum Member who did pre checkin on the app, the front desk clerk was exceedingly slow. Asking for info in my profile. It was not a welcoming experience. I’ll skip this hotel next time through Savannah.

Nice location and hotel in general is in decent condition. We paid a non refundable $100 dog fee for my mom’s tiny dog who did no damage yet our room has obviously dog damage from previous dogs. The hallway smelled like dog pee. And it looked like the rug had possibly been ripped by a dog. Be careful walking around barefoot because I stepped on a carpet staple. I get that it’s hard to vet dogs and some dogs are bad and do damage but if you’re going to collect $100 from every person that has a dog then you should be using that money to fix the damages. Honestly disgraceful that they charge that much and don’t fix the damages leaving carpet staples sticking up.
Also for $300 a night you’d think they could buy a matching set of weights for the gym. Only 1 -10lb, and 1 -15lb is obnoxious.

As a reference, my job has me on the road constantly and I stay in a lot of hotels. I love this particular Residence Inn for several reasons. Location is great with all local amenities nearby. Rooms are always clean and welcoming. No strong toxic room freshener odors, etc. staff is always welcoming and helpful. Two trips a year I transport an 80 year old couple to and from Florida and the staff is always so accommodating. I especially would like to acknowledge front desk employee LaQuenta (not to be confused with another hotel brand lol:) because in this day and age it is not so common to receive above and beyond customer service and recognition so thank you to Marriott for retaining employees who provide an exceptional level of service! This is one of my favorite places to stay and I stay in literally hundreds of hotels every year.

Strayed at this hotel while on local business trip. Overall the hotel is good for what it does, provide a limited kitchen and space to save money on meals. The hotel provides a basic breakfast every morning, typical of Residents Inns. It’s ok for a few days, but otherwise eating at some of the local restaurants for breakfast will give a better experience. The big disappointment is small and in poor condition of the exercise room. Very small , with equipment broken, The hand weights are missing pairings , probably due to theft. One of two treadmills has been broken since my stay there in December. Probably best to find a local gym next time. Also, disappointing was the quick grab and go supply. Not stocked with items typically needed such as milk and cereal for early morning departure for work. Rooms are overall clean, but walking around without shoes is not recommended as the carpet is not completely clean. I believe this hotel was renovated within last 10 years, but like so many, it’s looking dated. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
