A great place to stay! We only stayed overnight but gladly booked it for a good rest. Place was away from the main road and looks secured enough. I say it is conveniently located to your food stores and necessity.

My wife and I are frequent travelers and know excellent service when we see it. Although hotels may look the same on the inside it's the hotel experience that makes the difference. We stayed at the Residence Inn Vandalia on October 27, 2024 while traveling cross country. Although the hotel was being renovated the service was still outstanding. From check in to check out it was evident that this hotel was being managed by a team that takes pride in what they do. The lady at check in was polite, courteous and professional which was a great first impression. Also, the breakfast that Sunday morning was the best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel buffet. It was fresh, well prepared and it was abundantly clear that it was prepared by someone who truly cares and takes pride in the food they prepare. That person was a lady named Valencia who as we enjoyed our breakfast was constantly checking the food preparation and stopping at every table checking with the hotel breakfast guests to make sure we were enjoying the meal. We can't say enough about Valencia, her attention to detail was obvious.

The next surprise was what appeared to be the hotel manager who arrived at the hotel breakfast and made her rounds to all of the guests making sure everything met our expectations.

I don't often write google reviews, but felt this hotel staff deserves to be commended. I am an attorney that frequently travels and I know good management and great employees are hard to find. That being said, now you know where to find them, The Residence Inn Vandalia.

We had a wonderful experience at this location, All the staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and modern. The free breakfast had lots of options and the lovely staff member tending to it was helpful and prompt. We'd definetly come back!

I can’t say enough positive things about this Residence Inn! The staff were amazing, from the time we checked inn and throughout our stay! Anytime we needed something done in our room or needed something at the front desk, or our room cleaned ( extra towels) they always did it with a smile and projected great energy!

By far, some of the best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel, and my kids say this is the best part of the stay! They said it reminds them of their grandmothers cookie, which is a huge compliment!

Miss Valencia in the breakfast area was always so sweet every morning. I looked forward to seeing her and getting a warm greeting and smile everyday! She was always busy cleaning or restocking, but always took the time to say good morning and chat with me for a bit. Such a great employee and person! Really made my month long stay feel more like home. Great job and thank you!

While waiting to check in I had a medical event. The front desk clerk was quick to get me a towel, pillow and tower fan that was extremely comforting. She then handed me my room key and made sure that I was good to go. Thank you for your help. |The breakfast was hot and fresh. The kitchen staff was friendly and cheerful. Nice well kept rooms with plenty of free parking. Close to Walmart and many restaurants.

Friendly environment but as a member, it was just dirty. Empty soda bottle under the couch, stains on the couch, grout on bathroom tile is black in some areas & white (natural color) on others. Hair stuck to pullout bed blankets, stained towels, stained shower Curtis, stained walls, dirty stiff towel left hanging on shower rod when we arrived & stained floor crevices. Would be decent if it was well taken care of.
