Me and my wife stayed here a few months back I believe it was in November. The rooms were nice but the real eye catcher was Miss Janet the hotel breakfast clerk. She greets you with a warm smile when you walk in and always asks what you want immediately without making you wait. She told me that she had 27 years of experience and that showed with her excellent ability to satisfy our breakfast needs and cravings. She said she really loved her job and we are excited to her again soon when we are back in town.

Looks like they did a complete renovation and it looks very nice and modern. The front desk clerk was very nice and the check in process was very smooth. There was new carpet, paint and tile throughout the hotel including my room. In my room there was one of those new modern type mirrors with led lighting around it above the sink it added a very elegant touch to the room. There was also a full length mirror in the room as well. Bed was firm and comfortable. They use smaller square pillows instead of big pillows but the pillows were comfortable. The shower/ tub had new acyrlic marble printed walls instead of tiles which was nice. I cant remember if there was a fridge or microwave.Hot Breakfast was included with eggs, sausage, biscuits, fruit, coffee, waffles, etc. I would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed one night due to a weather situation.

We booked our room online and checked in the day of our arrival. The black/Jamaican looking young man was sitting in a chair to the left of the desk in an area not easily seen unless you looked that way. No doubt, they can see when someone pulls to the front because there is a window there. It took him about 30 seconds before he came to the desk. He was not on the phone or talking to anyone because he was the only one there.

As he approached the desk, he was licking an ice-cream of some kind. He would ask questions and lick his ice-cream and continued to do so until the check-in process was complete. Not only that, he smacked his lips during this time too as if to be enjoying his ice-cream. That was more than disgraceful.

During the check-in, he asked my husband for a ? card? My husband could not understand him and asked him to repeat himself. He had to ask twice and then my husband said, are you asking for a credit card? His reply, "yes, yes, a credit card."

While our information was given, this man referred to my husband as ma'am and my husband quickly corrected him and said, "it's sir." We both found his attitude to be very bad and his lack of being able to communicate to us without licking and smacking his ice-cream was distasteful.

As you leave the check-in area and make your way down the hallway (we stayed on the first floor) the powerful scent of the cleaning products was extremely strong and very noticeable.

In our room, there was no towel holder at the sink and the toilet seat was barely attached. In order to charge my smart watch, I needed a USB port. There was one on the TV and two on a table lamp, neither three were usable. The four pillows on the king size bed were extremely small and I mean small.

Upon checking out, my husband pulled our SUV to the front and I approached the desk and the same young man was there. He was leaned back in his chair and had his phone between his hands. He never stood up and I said, "we are checking out." He never said one word to me or made eye contact but continued to look at his phone. He finally muttered something and glanced my way and smiled and I'm not sure, but I believe he said, lay or put your cards down. He never gave us a printout but he did say what sounded like, come again.

This hotel needs to train their desk clerks on being more considerate, attentive and they certainly need to be taught manners.

And, this is in the line of "choice hotels?"

We took a chance and picked a lower-priced hotel, and we were not disappointed. It was very clean, and the staff were helpful. Front desk staff were very friendly. Hotel was conveniently located near downtown activities that we came for. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was recently renovated so it still had that "new car smell". The property is very well maintained and clean. I thought the room was spacious and the ac worked well. 1 star off because the bathtub was slippery, no anti-skid strips or safety bar. After soaping up, I had to be very careful. Comfortable bed too.

Tell your staff not to follow women to their rooms. My wife traveling with our 2 small children said she had 2 adults at check in, which is what she always does for security reasons when I’m not with her. She is visiting our oldest at college and was literally followed to her room and questioned. She called me because now our kids are scared. When I called I actually spoke to the manager who admitted he’d done so, and we were told his brother owns the place. I told them to make it right, but was told the manager will be in Monday and to call then. I guess now I’ll leave this review. Hotel staff following a woman with small children to their room is way across the line. Totally unacceptable.

There was urine on the couch in our room. When asking the staff about it they took the couch pieces to the hall, sprayed them with Lysol and then put them back in the same room. There is also a strong smell at the end of the 3rd floor hallway where it appears a family is living. The only bright spot was a new worker at the front desk who was friendly though. It was his first day on the job.
