Hands down the best BBQ we've had in a loooong time. Savory Pulled Pork! Tender Sliced Brisket!! Conveniently compressed chopped brisket sandwiches ideally wrapped for easy eating on the go. Chili style beans and smoked mac and cheese on the side. 10 out of 10 Definitely worth a stop by to dine.

Bread pudding for dessert!!! Yum!!!!!

On a long and lonesome highway, East of Central High. I smelled the smell of wood smoked meat and it was mighty fine. I walked to the window and the woman said what will it be? I said I'm not so sure ma'am why don't you tell me?

The special was potatos stuffed with BBQ, I ordered that and some tacos that came in pairs of 2. Siiiiiide of sweet creamed corn, beans, and mac a cheese. Even got a diet coke because I was thirsty.

And my belly growled........my belly growled...MY BELLY GROWLED, AND THE HUNGER BITES, GET IT HOME BEFORE ITS COLLLLLD, AND POUR THIS COKE OVER IIIIICE, AS MY HUNGER GROWS OOOOONNNN OUT OF CONROL! DEEP IN MY SOUL...MY HUNGER GROWS.

They the bag on the table and opened my to go box. What I saw on the inside almost blew off my socks. Steam Poured from the foil that the tacos were wrapped in. I oped up the beans and started to dig in.

My wife tried to get a bite and almost got her fingers bit. I started going for the cream corn and I liked it quite a bit. The sausage in the tacos was full of peppers and cheese, and the sweet Chipotle BBQ sauce almost brought me to my knees....

And my belly growls...MY BELLY GROWLS!!!!
BUT NOT NO MORE, BECAUSE IM FULLL! THE TACOS WERE SO GOOOOOD AND POTATO WAS TOOOOO!!! IM SO GLAD I STOPPED THERE AND SO SHOULD YOU! THE PEOPLE WERE SO NICE AND SERVICE WAS FAST! WILL I EVER GO BACK?! YOU CAN BET YOUR A$$🫶🏻

This is true central Texas style BBQ, serving the classics like brisket, sausages, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken along with some creative weekly specials like BBQ egg rolls. I could not be more impressed with the quality of the BBQ. I consider myself a bit of BBQ snob (having lived near Austin and experiencing many of the top joints in Texas) and I would put Proverbs with any of them. The brisket was excellent competition style cook where it was basically as tender as possible without shredding or falling apart. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is the best I’ve had, plenty of cheddar and jalapeño inside so you can taste the flavors of the smoked meat, jalapeño, and cheddar in a balanced manner. The bbq egg rolls were very meat heavy, which is exactly what you hope for at a bbq joint. Combined with a crispy outer wrapper and tender bbq meats inside, this was an excellent flavor and texture combo. Perhaps the most surprising thing to me was the bbq sauce. Many BBQ joints treat the sauce almost as an afterthought but not Proverbs. The original sauce is sweet without being overly syrupy or ketchupy and had the perfect amount of black peppercorn for spice and flavor. Strongly recommend Proverbs BBQ.
