The Prospect Hotel is a beautifully preserved historic gem. Staying in the rooms felt like stepping back in time, bringing back so many wonderful memories. The rooms were not only clean but also had comfortable beds, making it easy to relax. The area around the hotel was stunning, with picturesque waterfalls and lush forests that added to the charm of the experience. The front desk staff was highly knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating. Her assistance significantly enhanced the overall experience.

We had such a wonderful time here. The hotel is cozy and comfortable and the history is mind-blowing. We stayed in the room Jack London stayed in! I can't imagine how nice the wraparound porch would be in the summer - even in February it was so peaceful. The surrounding area is gorgeous and feels like a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. The new owners are fantastic. We ate well, slept well, and felt so taken care of. We will definitely be back!

We staying in the old hotel on the third floor. The room was great--the decor and quilts were so nice! The hotel is a piece out of history and so well maintained--it is a treasure. The room and the hotel were spotless. They made us a great breakfast with wonderful service and special attention to some things I asked for due to being on a restricted diet. The view of the Avenue of the Boulders with Mt. McLoughlin in the background were just down a bit down the road and easy to find.

The Prospect Historic Hotel is quite quaint. We stayed in the Motel room 1 on the end closest to the Hotel house. The The shower and bed were good. The previous owner had just sold the Hotel with closing the week before and the new owners were being trained by him. Everyone was very friendly. We made multiple trips to the desk at the main hotel --we needed thinner pillows, the rooms were not being cleaned, so we had to stop in for coffee for the room coffee maker, new cups because only paper cups were provided and did not stand up to re-use, new towels when the old ones needed relplacing. We emptied our own trash. It turns out all of this was because the previous owner was still following COVID restriction recommendations and not letting any staff enter rooms while they were occupied by guests. This all took a little getting used to. On the other hand, the previous owner demonstrated a great interest in our enjoyment of the area, providing us with detailed maps, local lore stories, an invitation to wander about the property, advice on what to do and see around Prospect while we were at the hotel. I felt we had slipped back in time to somewhere around 1960. The new owners seemed engaged in carrying on the inviting atmosphere and adding some updates.

Our family recently had the pleasure of celebrating our dad’s 90th birthday at the Prospect Historic Hotel.  The new owners were super accommodating to our group of about 14. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service and the food were fantastic.
We will most definitely be returning!

We stayed in motel room #3. It was very spacious and comfortable bedding. The bathroom definitely showed it's age but was very clean, spacious and well equipped.|The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area where there are several hikes within walking distance. |We ate dinner at the restaurant. Limited menu. Food was excellent. Great prime rib and salmon. |Breakfast is not available if you are staying in the motel. They make one specialty a day for breakfast. |We ate breakfast next door at the Trophy Room Cafe. It is a greasy spoon with large portions. Food was good. |I understand the hotel/motel is in the process of being sold so some of this might change in the future. I hope not. Why fix what isn't broken?

We did not stay in the historic hotel part but stayed in one of the motel rooms. It was very dated and the beds were very stiff. No ice was provided as well. Very nice owners and will recommend as far as destination to Crater Lake. Not many other options. They do have a restaurant but high price and fine dining. There is a Country Cafe and Restaurant next door but other than that, nowhere else to eat out. There is a small Market just up the road and some beautiful hiking Falls adjacent to the property. A little pricey especially that no breakfast is provided but only to those staying in the hotel section.

I used this motel for visiting Crater Lake National Park with my husband. The room was old but very clean. The owner has perfect hospitality. The diner here was excellent! I ate Lasagna and my husband chose Lib eye stake, both were awesome!! The only one disappointed was I couldn’t find a hair dryer…
