We used prominent events and designs for my daughter's graduation party from UAB. The party started at noon, right after the graduation. We asked for fried chicken, but it had been cooked the day before and was soggy. We asked that the greens should not contain pork, but it definitely had pork. The fried fish was not fresh. The venue and ambiance was nice, but there were mis communications about drinks, so I had to run out and get water, drinks on my way to the event. This was suppose to be a stress free event for me.
The cake was delicious, the bartender was great. I asked for the bartender's info so I could send her a tip (this was after the event) and was told I would have to tip her through the company. We were also told that there would be wifi for us to connect our speaker, but when we got there the password was not known so we had to figure out something at the last minute.
Additionally:
Thank you for your response. I appreciate the time taken to clarify your perspective, but I would like to address some of the points you raised, as well as reiterate my original concerns. I believe it’s important to maintain an open dialogue for the benefit of future customers.
Food Quality:
While you state that the food was cooked the day of, unfortunately, that was not reflected in the quality, particularly with the fried chicken and fish. The chicken was soggy, which often happens when food is not freshly prepared or stored improperly. The fish was also not fresh. The fact remains that the food did not meet the expectations we had for a professional catering service, regardless of when it was cooked.
Dietary Requests:
You mentioned that you "never" use pork in your greens, but my guests and I distinctly tasted pork in the greens. This was a specific request made due to dietary restrictions, and it was not honored, which was disappointing.
Beverages:
Regarding the beverages, we were under the impression that basic beverages, such as water, would be included in the package. However, there was clear miscommunication here, as we ended up having to purchase these ourselves last minute. Your suggestion that we had the option to upgrade is noted, but it doesn’t change the fact that such a fundamental element was overlooked and not communicated.
WiFi/Bluetooth:
There was indeed a conversation about WiFi. I was told there would be WiFi access, but when we arrived, no one had the password. Whether or not Bluetooth speakers require WiFi is beside the point; there was a miscommunication about what would be provided, and we had to scramble at the last minute to address the issue.
Tipping Policy:
I completely understand your policy on tipping through the company. I was simply seeking clarification at the time and hoped to ensure the bartender was properly compensated for her great service.
Leftovers and Budget:
The fact that we packed leftovers for our guests should not be misconstrued as a reflection of satisfaction with the food. It is common in many gatherings to not let food go to waste, regardless of its quality. As for your comments on my budget, I must express my disappointment with the implication that my dissatisfaction stems from financial constraints. We chose your services based on a mutual agreement of what would be provided, and budget aside, I expected the level of quality and professionalism that was promised.
Timeliness of Feedback:
While it is true that I did not immediately leave a review, I did not realize that voicing concerns on Google reviews at a later date would invalidate my experience. Many people reflect on services post-event before sharing feedback. This was the case here.
In closing, while I appreciate some aspects of the service, such as the cake and the bartender’s professionalism, my overall experience was not as stress-free or seamless as you strive to deliver. Especially, after paying extra for your time. I hope this constructive feedback helps you improve your future services.
Best regards,
