Don’t waste your money! We paid over $2600 for one month rent while we waited for our house to close. The β€œcondo” we were in was awful. The entrance was horrible, unstable, unsafe and the wood was rotten. We told Wendy and Greg about it and it took over 2 weeks before they had someone reinforce a railing and nail in some of the rotting wood but none of it was replaced . The rooms were furnished with old smelly furniture that was most likely purchased from Goodwill (two blocks away). The kitchen was equipped with unusable bots and pans that belonged in the trash. This was by far the worst(and the most expensive) air b n b we have ever stayed in.

Hey Wendy! I filed a police report on ya today for the vicious dog attack on my little Chihuahua by your dog "Poppi" which you let roam around unleashed & unsupervised...great idea BTW and thanks again for allowing us the wonderful experience of seeing our little dog being ripped apart on a lovely Sunday afternoon. We had an amazing time spending 12hrs @ the Emergency Vet all Sunday evening crying over the shrieks of our beloved pet. Could you folks reading this imagine if that was your small child? Or God forbid our 2 year old grandson! Stay far away from this place everyone.

Despite the name, these cabins are not walking distance from any lake or even a creek with water. It is not easy to tell from the overall map before booking.

Wendy was terse, unkind and just overall heartless. They have a monopoly of the rentals in the area. For one, I so much as begged her to cancel reservation and refund me after getting unexpected extra pet fees a day after I booked and she flat out refused. Whether she had the right to do it in a technical sense is one thing, but it was just not a kind way to handle it. She also didn't respond to some of my messages.

Other things:

* There were insects and cobwebs everywhere.

* Wi-fi didn't work on the TV - she said there would be lots of channels but it was just the basic ones. There was a DVD player but no DVD's.

* The overhead fan in the bedroom didn't work. There is another cooler in the room but it is not sufficient in the summer. My baby was overheated.

* Unstable wood flooring in the stargazing rooftop

* The exhaustive list of rules around every corner made it hard to relax and just gave overall bad vibes

I was looking for a monthly rental and I found this on Air BNB. I contacted them directly to book thru website. I signed for a month for a reasonable rate and a $300 deposit was collected on her direct website. She (Wendy Temple) never made it clear that she was not the owner of the home, must of missed it (I found out mid stay). Upon booking, I spoke to her on the phone and clarified I had 2 small dogs, 20 pounds and went over other details. When we arrived, the house she managed was nice and had many amenities, blankets, dishes etc. I was pleased with that aspect.

However, very early on in my communication, she was cold by answering with one word responses or texting back days late. My first unpleasant interaction was when I pointed out the patio umbrella (the patio is the main feature of the house) is faulty. She assured she would get it fixed but already scolded me for using it while it was windy (not sure why she got that assumption). As more questions arose, like where are your cleaning supplies so we can clean throughout our month stay, she remained cold and bothered. She required I walk trash up a mountain hill quite a ways away each week (warning for acres away property) and was unapologetic about it which is very unusual for rental. To be specific, I couldn't wheel up the trash bin and had to carry the individual trash bags up the steep hill to put in the city trash bin.

There were invasive cameras around the outside and patio which is the only place to hang out outside and is a main feature of the house. I know a lot of places have cameras outdoors now, but this one was right in your face on the deck, a strange location. Just keep that in mind if you rent this place.

The final straw came when she decided to steal my $300 deposit by claiming that there was pet hair (my two 20 pound dogs were approved for stay and I paid cleaning fee) and that there were scratches on cookware (cookware she claimed was brand but we did use it considering we lived there for months).

At our 11 am checkout, we were on time and left the house in good condition. My wife brought her Dyson with her and would continuously vacuum the house and clean the bathrooms. She even mopped the downstairs floor because she is a clean freak. Dishes were cleaned. Of course it wasn't perfect and would need sheets cleaned and other small things, but absolutely nothing egregious.

I even left the cleaning person a tip to take up the garbage to bin (bag was tied and ready). She consistently ignored me during check out when I asked for guidance on how she prefers things.

I HIGHLY recommend you find another Prescott rental company as she is cold and dishonest. I am awaiting a response (she's again ignoring me), and will decide how to handle after she decides how to remedy the situation. I just wanted to warn people that although the house itself is lovely, it's run by Wendy. She manages a 30 properties and has a burnt out attitude, as if everyone is an annoyance or her enemy. It's worth considering before booking. There are many beautiful homes where the management copy is hospitable.

I’ve done a lot of vacation rentals and never had one issue. I can now say, Wendy Temple is by far the worst, what a joke. Spend your money elsewhere.
