My husband made reservations and took me to The Plume Inn high tea on March 14, 2025. The owner, Kay, was a phenomenal hostess and her culinary presentation was delightful to the eye as well as to the palate. Her tea menu is vast and varied. Kay knows how to prepare a delicious pot of tea: piping hot, perfectly brewed, and poured into fine bone china cups. Her foods were spectacular. We were shocked at the amount of wonderful homemade and freshly prepared sandwiches, scones, and desserts. There is simply not enough room to describe this marvelous establishment. We plan to return and we recommend it enthusiastically. We asked to see the bedroom rooms at the authentic 1884 structure. Kay’s decorating and her husband’s construction skills equal the scrumptious kitchen fare. The bedrooms and baths are beautiful with period antiques and artwork. In spite of our visit on a busy Friday afternoon in Thomaston, the quiet peace inside the inn was relaxing, as was Kay’s choices in music.

As a local, I heard that the Plume House Inn bed and breakfast offered afternoon tea experiences, so I decided to get a gift certificate for my family and I this past Christmas. Over the weekend, we finally redeemed our certificate and had the best time! This is definitely my new favorite spot for an afternoon tea experience. The portions were hearty and I actually left full, unlike other tea experiences I’ve been to in the past. The owner, Kay, goes above and beyond to take care of your group, and everything is made from scratch by her. The sandwiches feature ingredients grown right in their garden (the cucumber sandwich on rye with her homemade dill spread is delicious!), and the angel biscuits were so fluffy. She prepares everything day of or minutes before, so you’re getting it all as fresh as possible, and you can taste the difference! The list of teas is extensive. Kay was nice enough to even give us a tour of the inn, and we will absolutely be recommending them to our friends and family traveling in from out of town. I’ll be keeping Plume House in mind as a spot to have a shower as well!

I attended a birthday party at the Plume House. Kay graciously gave us a tour of the inn. Beautifully decorated and clean. The food was fresh and delicious. One could tell there was detailed attention to everything Kay did. Highly recommend for any occasion. Thank you for a fabulous night.

Perfect location, can walk to Thomaston Opera House, train station, local restaurants and town brewery. Kay could not be more of a gracious host. My best friend came into town to celebrate her 50th and we stayed here for the night. Kay went above and beyond in making my friend feel special with happy birthday signs and a wonderful breakfast. Would recommend staying at this wonderful gem in Thomaston

Top notch! It was quiet and cozy with very hospitable owners. Kay prepared a delicious homemade breakfast at a time of our choosing. The home is a historic Victorian from 1884 with beautiful furnishing and wood detail. A very beautiful place. A great place to book with family and friends

Kay takes special care to make sure guests feel welcomed and accommodated. The decor is well curated, warm, and vintage. We love picking a vinyl or CD during breakfast to set the mood. Stays at the Plume House Inn are always a special treat!

What a relaxing night away with my daughter and friends! The detail in all of the rooms is amazing. Kay went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay! I can’t wait to stay here again in the future! And the location is perfect. We were able to walk to the local brewery and walk through the town. The breakfast was delicious!!

Had a nice one night stay while visiting friends in Thomaston. Historic home with period decor and lovely china for our breakfast. I really enjoyed the baked apples with yogurt and homemade granola. The bed and pillows were comfortable and Kay was a great host!
