We went last night for a birthday dinner. Could not have had better service and the food was amazing! They were so flexible with dishes and even custom drinks for the kids. Beautiful place, wonderful wine, knowledgeable employees and the homemade pasta was top notch. Paulina was so nice and very fluent in everything they offered, Josh knew so much about the wine and the history (thanks for sharing) and Roy, the chef, was amazing!! So glad we found this little gem and can't wait to go back!

I wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional restaurant! From the moment I arrived for my 6:00 reservation, I was warmly welcomed and seated promptly, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. I was with my three daughters (ages 10, 6, and 4), and the attention to detail was evident throughout. The atmosphere was both cozy and inviting, and the service was outstanding. Special shout-out to Joe and Paulina for their incredible service, and Danny for going above and beyond to accommodate us!

But let's talk about the food—wow. The bruschetta was the most authentic I’ve had, bringing back memories of my recent trip to Italy (which I visit several times a year). And the steak? Without a doubt, it’s the best I’ve had in this area. Each bite was pure perfection. I can’t wait for my next visit. If you're craving true Italian flavors, this is the place to be!

This is undoubtedly the best dining experience in the Auburn/Opelika area. Our only regret is we did not try this place sooner. The food, atmosphere, and service were phenomenal. Our servers, Paulina and Joe, are truly who made our night here unforgettable. Don’t hesitate to try this place!

Amazing!!! Piedmont is a classy place and is an exciting and new spot in the area. Adam helped me choose the perfect Amaro. I enjoyed the chill music and a couple of pours. I ended up buying a bottle to go because it was so great. Highly recommended 10/10.

If you are looking for great service and just the right ambiance - this is the place!

Also - please ignore some of the earlier reviews. They have been open less than a month and you can tell they are doing everything to make it a perfect experience.

We went tonight after making a reservation for 7:30 but arrived closer to 7 and were seated promptly. Let me start by saying that the restaurant is beautiful, It caught our eye last weekend from the street and we could not wait to try it. Like other reviews posted tonight, It pretty much fell flat from there. First our waitress greeted us promptly but was hurried as she was the only server in the entire restaurant. She was one of three staff members on the floor that I could see. One was a guy who I assume was the owner or manager, he was the one who sat us but he pretty much sat at a table by the bar drinking and on his computer. The other was I assume a wine sommelier or at least a passionate enthusiast who spent the majority of his time at a particular table talking with patrons about wine but he never once even looked our way. When our waitress came back she brought the drink/wine menu, It was the only menu in the entire restaurant and she kept having to shuffle it to other tables. And while they did have some interesting cocktails, the wine list was poor and listed no whites just a couple of reds and a desert wine and some vermouth. Again the other staff are in their own little world while she struggled to keep her head above water. We ordered 2 cocktails, the le vie en rose and the darling. Both were good. When she did make it back to us we ordered food but they were out of all but one type of pasta. Also I asked how the chicken was served and she just looked at me strange and said, "It's like a piece of chicken" I then clarified like is it grilled, blackened, or fried. She clearly needs training on the food she is serving and how it is prepared. Again this points to poor management. We ordered the soup and the brie ciabatta and two pastas. The food was good. But we could never get any wine to go with it. Our food was delivered but our waitress who is already drowning had to get us utensils. Again poor management. We asked for wine and she recommend one and we agreed but she never brought it. We also never got our water refilled. Again this is a systems issue.
My suggestion is for wine enthusiast is to do less talking and actually develop a good wine list for those of us who know how to pick our own wine. Maybe help run some food, bring utensils, fill a water glass. It might be helpful to set utensils on the table before seating that table and maybe provide a water bottle at each table since you only have one server. Ideally you should have more servers on a Saturday night or at least help her. My hope is that this place can get it together but when management isn't out there on the floor supporting their overwhelmed and undertrained staff, it's going to be a long shot .

My boyfriends family and I had a wonderful time at Piedmont on Piedmont! It was the perfect place for us to grab some evening cocktails and wine after dinner in downtown Opelika. The atmosphere inside of Piedmont on Piedmont captures the essence of an Italian wine bar cafe perfectly. Will definitely be coming back!!

My wife and I had reservations which didn’t appear to be necessary as the restaurant was only half full. Initially, we were greeted with complimentary drinks offering an impressive start. Shortly after a waitress specializing in wine attended to our table and made suggestions based on my wife’s preferences, which was nice. Later a waiter familiar with the food menu went over in detail the available options while mentioning that numerous items were unavailable. My wife and I ordered Caesar salad and a charcuterie board for starters. Both dishes were bland for this type of restaurant. The salad had little flavor and the cheeses on the board were lackluster. Service at this point in our meal was slow, but we continued on to the main course. My wife ordered bolognese and I ordered lasagna. After 30 minutes my wife’s meal was served but I never received my food. I ordered a second beer which I never received. No one noticed my food never arrived, stopped to check, offered more drinks or food. After my wife finished her meal, which she said was good, we walked to the bar to ask for a check, but still no service. We had to bring this “mishap” to their attention, which is not something that should have to be done at a restaurant that prides itself on ambience and fine food. Finally, with the check the waiter brought the lasagna for me to take home and cook. I left hungry and unimpressed two ours later. The restaurant has potential, but their customer service is extremely poor.
