Well worth a drive. The ribs fall off the bone and the taste is balanced. Not over seasoned with black pepper. Perfection. If you don't want bones try the chucked butt. Eat here often. Meat is always moist.

Excellent BBQ. A great rub on the ribs which were very tender and were NOT ( a good thing ) fall the none. The chicken was very moist. The Brunswick stew was excellent, several layers of flavors and textures. Very fresh bread to top it all. The chopped pork (under everything) in the sampler was not very good at all, in fact I had to leave it, but the cubed pork was excellent.

Bbq was tasty, sauces in choices varied enough to satisfy each of the 4 of us. A sweet/mild , medium/mustardy, and thinner hot. Chipped with sauce or chopped without the pre-saucing available. Potato salad was good, non-traditional, stew as well was nice as was the okra HOT oh yeah. Sweet tea, nice and sweet ( very). The only thing they could do better is provide real lemon slices instead of 'real lemon ' juice. If I hadn't had my covid vaccinations I would not have been comfortable using the bottling area for the sauces or the drink dispenser; but I have and I did. There was a hand cleaning dispenser near the ordering counter as you came in. All those anglers upon the wall, and local sports heroes know a good cinderblock building with pork pit smoke emanating from it is a great meal waiting to happen. Not even a block off the main drive, turn at the billboard. Can't wait to be in the area again and try the ribs.

Wife and I were passing through town on our way back from Panama City, and we were craving some BBQ so we pulled up our trusty Google map and found this place, just a block off the main road and MAN we are glad we found it!

We're extremely picky about our BBQ; my wife loves ribs and I always love a good BBQ and slaw sandwich. These guys rocked it!

First of all it "looks" like a good bbq joint, down to the sign and slogan. We ate here about 4pm on a Friday so it wasn't too busy.

I ordered the bbq "chipped" sandwich plate with 2 sides of cole slaw and baked beans. The sandwich was excellent, I put the mustard sauce and regular bbq sauce on it with the coleslaw...heaven. the slaw is good, not too sweet but just the right amount of sweet. The baked beans were excellent, they're a meal by themselves.

Wife had the rib plate with baked beans and brunswick stew, she actually couldn't finish her plate, had to get a to-go box. The ribs had lots of meat on them, she was so happy. Same baked beans I had and she said the Brunswick stew was great.

They have several different BBQ sauces, 3 of which are mustard based from mild to hot, and a regular sweet BBQ sauce. I mixed the medium mustard with the regular sauce and enjoyed that.

Standard drinks as most places, but I had an unsweet/sweet tea mix, tea is brewed perfect.

The service is FAST and very friendly, every single employee was pleasant and extremely professional, several different people came out at different times to ask everyone how the food was and if they/we needed anything.

Prices are extremely good for the quantity and quality of food.

This is now our go to place when we come through this area. So glad we found it. Highly recommend.

Wonderful family operated place, gracious staff and owners, and dog friendly seating!

I had sampled a mustard based sauce in Alabama years ago, craved ever since - and this was the best - a very local/regional twist on it that is a welcome (and superior imo) to the typical hickory sauce

The owner came out to talk, they all gave my dogs attention, i was so excited about sandwich I forgot to take pictures

I try to get to Phil's every time I go back to my home town of Eufaula. They serve the absolute best Chopped Pork (butt), sandwich that you could imagine. I can't personally speak for the rest of their menu other than Brunswick Stew, but I had their jumbo chopped sand at least four days a week when I lived there years ago. It was just as good yesterday as it ever was. Always moist an flavorful. I love to drizzle it with their habanero hot mustard based sauce. Be aware that I am not comparing their chopped porksandwhich to a pulled pork sandwich. I love both but they generally have different textures and cook to different temps.Their Brunswick Stew seemed a little off yesterday but it is normally as good as anyone's. In my opinion, Phil's does in fact has a legitimate claim to "The Best Butts in Bama."

Best bbq in Alabama! We drove through town on the way back to Florida, stopped by for lunch. Had the sampler platter and it was delicious. My only regret is that I didn’t get a whole slab of the ribs, they have been on my mind since we got home. 5 stars for Phils bbq!
