Stayed here over a Saturday night, and it was a good decision!

Price was $120 total, compared to $200+ everywhere else. Location was safe, quiet and had no issues. Sure, the room is bland, furniture wasn't pieced together by an interior designer, but the bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. It's what my wife and I needed while we explored the area for the weekend.

We would stay here again!

We had been talking about going to Woods Canyon lake. I’d hadn’t been there in years, we also wanted to check out the campgrounds. I searched for hotels in Payson, found that Payson Inn & Suites was relatively new. So $79.99 a night was not bad at all, we only needed one night. We stayed in a queen bed, the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable, there were only 2 pillows, I would say they were in between firm & soft. We were there on Nov 6, & The temp at night was like 20°. The bed had a blanket and also a quilt. But I always take my own pillow & blanket when I travel. The heater in the room worked very well. The only bad thing about that heater was when you said it it didn’t have a thermostat where it would turn off at a certain time and turn back on again. So it would get too hot, I’d have to get up and turn it off, then it would get too cold and I’d have to get up and turn it on. There was no hairdryer or iron. There was a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker. We didn’t use the coffee maker there was only 2 pods, 1 reg, 1 decaf. But you can get fresh made coffee from the office. I walked next door to Denny’s to get coffee in the morning. We stayed in room 104, at night you can hear the traffic up till about 1am. By that time the whole Town is asleep. John who checked us in was so nice 😊. I would recommend staying there if you’re passing through. It’s not a 5 ⭐️ resort. But it’s clean, not expensive, people are nice & welcoming.

The room I had was a small one, but updates had been made and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't have the same threadbare/distressed feel that many of these older motels have.
The plug-in room freshener wasn't as bad as some, but it's something I'd rethink since so many people are sensitive to smells.
Yes, you can hear quite well through the walls. I didn't knock a star off because I'm on the road a lot and there's noise in most hotels. It just comes with the territory.

Great place to stay! Clean large room and great customer service!!!. Only downside was the ded was extremely uncomfortable, very stiff, and pillows had no fluff, i used all 4 and it wasn't the best.. But I still enjoyed my stay!

I really wanted to say this was a nice place…I saw reviews about how clean it was and we love Payson so it didn’t bother me that the place looked in need of an update. The front desk clerk was wonderful, so kind and helpful and he kept that area spotless, so again I had high hopes. Then we opened the door to the room and I was first greeted with the smell of camping—smelled like a campfire and dirt. I checked with management right away to make sure it was a non smoking room and he claimed it was. We were only staying one night and decided it was fine enough for that. We dropped our things off and went to dinner. When we returned and were getting ready for bed I removed my shoes and realized the floor was so dirty! It felt like it was dusted with dirt—I then realized where part of the smell was coming from. I couldn’t stand it and made sure to wear socks after I washed my feet so that I didn’t have to feel that grit walking around the room. Obviously the room was not swept or mopped since the previous tenant…or longer? I don’t want to leave a bad review to be nasty but to hopefully help them make sure this problem doesn’t remain for others. Not positive we will be staying again, but I think this motel has a lot of potential.

Not bad for the money. Staff was nice and hospitable. Room was clean and internet was fast enough to support a zoom meeting when I needed it. Across the street from great burber bar!

Forget about bland, sterile hotel bed sheets. At the Payson Inn, you'll be treated to a unique mix of animal fur and human (presumably) pubes. Changing your own linen is a hands-on experience that adds to the adventure.

For those who appreciate the earthy scents of nature, the wet soil smell emanating from the bathroom pipes is a real treat. It's like bringing the outdoors inside, allowing you to revel in the natural aromas without ever leaving your room.

The Amenities:
Who needs basic appliances cluttering up your space? Enjoy a minimalist lifestyle with zero distractions from things like clocks, coffee makers, or hair dryers.

The Climate Control:
The HVAC wall unit is a marvel of modern engineering. Festooned with controls that do nothing, it provides a single, unchangeable temperature. Simply turn it on or off and enjoy the mystery of what temperature you'll get!

Overall, the Payson Inn offers a stay like no other. If you’re tired of the same old boring, flawless hotel experiences, this place will provide you with an adventure filled with surprises and a good dose of humor.

Sarcasm-Free Version:
Part of our party stayed in room 101 and avoided most of the above. Upgrade to the King "suites" if possible, but only stay here as a last resort. There were some positives: despite last-minute plans, there was availability, and the rates are cheap. The property is centrally located and safe despite appearances. The staff were friendly, but the response to the dirty sheets wasn't satisfactory.

Our complaint of dirty sheets was upon check in, not after we had stayed a night. We arrived to dirty, unchanged sheets, and were forced to change them ourselves before going to sleep that first night.
