The Oranch House was one of the best and favorite places that we stayed during a two week journey through Utah and Arizona. The buildings, grounds, and decor were absolutely beautiful. That coupled with the host’s kindness and thoughtful touches made this one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. It is conveniently located within the city limits of the Kanab, which has plenty of nice restaurants, quaint shops, and other amenities. The location is also centrally located between Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Grand Staircase/Escalante NM, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and many other parks and national monuments. (BTW - My wife almost always thinks my jokes are corny, and they usually are, but when I asked “Oranch you glad we stayed here?” her answer was a resounding YES!!!)

"Cute, Cozy, and functional home away from home"

What more can I say that hasn't been said already. We booked the Studio last minute and late at night after realizing most hotels in the area were already booked up. Despite the limited warning, Helen greeted us with a warm welcome and TOAST!

The Studio has everything you could need. The space is well equipped with a kitchenette and even a projector/screen to watch movies from bed! Small details like a welcome basket make the space inviting, especially if you're tired and weary from the road or trails nearby.

The layout of the space is thoughtful with clear labels and instructions which show the experience of the hosts.

The grounds are lovely with hammocks to watch the stars. The aesthetic is cozy and authentic which combined with the thoughtful service from the hosts made this stay feel like a quick pitstop home to rest and recharge.

Helene and Heinz are great hosts. Very helpful when we were checking in even though we came late at night. The place had everything we needed like a stove microwave and toaster oven and coffee maker, they even included a few snacks slices of bread and some butter and honey to get us started on our trip. The place had very cute touches that made the stay feel like home. We stayed for five nights and had a prime location to access Zion Bryce and horseshoe bend. they offered many suggestions to other places that we should go including local trails that were amazing. Kanab is a lovely town with great places to eat close by and make sure you visit the library. Oranch is a short 5 min drive into town, in a lovely area where you can see the stars at night. Would stay again next time in Utah.

Fantastic experience! Studio was beautiful with wonderful details, absolutely clean and a well equipped kitchen. We particularly loved the home cinema and the complimentary welcome snacks. Also big fans of the large beautiful garden with hammocks where we had breakfast and dinner. Heinz was very welcoming and engaged and helped us plan our day-trips and recommended us some truly hidden gems.

Wow! This place was by far one of my favorite places we stayed at on our trip. Adorable little camper on the side of the Oranch house. You walk up through this cute walkway on to the deck and just from the outside of the camper you are already blow away! Walk inside and they have stocked it with plenty of supplies for your stay. I will definitely book here again. The experience was amazing. We hung outside for a while on the hammock chairs or just on our deck. Beautiful place! Thank you.

We loved staying at Oranch! We stayed for 3 weeks, 2 weeks in the studio and 1 week in the camper. They were both lovely, so thoughtfully decorated and well stocked with anything you could possibly need for a pleasant stay. There is lots of space to enjoy outside at the house and the stars are beautiful at night. What makes this place special is the hosts as they truly went above and beyond in making our stay the best. The 2 Hs were there to help with anything and give great recommendations. Having looked at many options in Kanab we are so happy we ended up staying here.

We can’t say enough good about Oranch....from the moment you drive up to a huge brightly colored orange house, you know it is bound to be special. The place was cozy and comfortable, and I loved how the hosts blended the Southwest with their European roots in the decor.. for example the spices labels were in three languages. So great! The place is well stocked. The hosts, Helene and Heinz are the real stars of the show: so gracious and accommodating. They should teach a class on being AirBnB hosts. Heinz loaned my husband a tool to air down our tires when we were going on a sandy Jeep trail. They provided us with directions and then at checkout they sent us with fresh shortbread cookies. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We want to come again!!!

Our 7 day stay hosted by Helene and Heinz was by far the best experience we have ever had. Although 5 stars is the highest rating we can give, their place deserves a 10.

Heinz and Helena have built from the ground up a unique home and grounds rooted in the American Southwest tradition blended cleverly with their European roots. The unit we rented is attached to the main house and although a studio, was more than adequate for our needs which did not require we spend much time inside; after all we came to Kanab to experience the grandiose region surrounding this town. The unit is beautifully decorated with the same love and care that our hosts put in everything else in their homestead. The kitchen has everything you need – including spices, oil & vinegar, tea, coffee, & sugar, and some snacks to get you started. The bathroom is divided into three functional areas so 2 people can easily use it at the same time. The shower is spacious with a ceiling head, non-slip floor, and plenty of hot water. Amazing. the shower is hand painted!... in a combination of colors that resemble the colors of the sounding region.
We lacked for nothing and we felt pampered by everything provided.

But what made the experience unique was the presence of our hosts. They met us warmly and in short time became our friends. They were perfect hosts and as result they made our stay more memorable than the sites we visited. Their suggestions inspired our visit and they took us on guided tours (for an additional fee), available only to off-road vehicles.

In short, the location was beautiful, the unit was more than great but our hosts were the marvel that made our stay unique. Thank you, Helene and Heinz!
