Hubby surprised me for this overnight stay. We were welcomed by our wonderful host, Thomas,with a plate of homemade cookies. Our stay in the Rose Room was perfect to celebrate a quiet night away from 4 kids and 4 dogs. The sheets were the coziest softest sheets and I have to go purchase some! We were delighted that Thomas stayed and chatted with us after he made us breakfast of homemade frittata, seasonal fruit, hash brown casserole and crispy bacon. Thomas shared his knowledge of the home’s history and some of the cool architectural features of the built in hutch. Loved all the personal and cozy decor touches around the house. Thomas was well spoken, charming and and accommodating.

For our anniversary this year we stayed in the Magnolia Room at the Old Magnolia House and it was absolutely fantastic!!! It was beautiful, relaxing, and so warm and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay here and the breakfast was always delicious. The wonderful ladies who serve here were very accommodating to our food needs and there was always more than enough to eat. Also, these ladies made us feel right at home and like part of their family. We highly recommend this place to anyone who would like an amazing place to stay in Paris!

We are cautious travelers. We read reviews. Study websites and ask questions. Many times we find that the internet over or under rates bed and breakfasts. Not so with the Old Magnolia. The pictures on their website are honest and accurate. This is a historical gem in Paris, Texas that just barely survived the Great 1916 Fire that wiped out much of the town. As a consequence, it is near a downtown district that was largely rebuilt in 1917 although the Old Magnolia is older than that. We stayed in the Magnolia room which has the best of both worlds. A historical feel with an up to date bathroom. The owner of this establishment greeted us as we pulled into the parking area and provided us with a personalized tour of the place. Then he gave us detailed recommendations on where to eat, and what to see. He also made sure we received freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. A nice touch. I had wanted a place with good service, healthy food (fruit and eggs for breakfast), and a historical quaintness. All of my expectations were met.

We were in Paris for a wedding and stayed five nights here. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. What really made the experience for us, through, was the family. Robyn, Robert, and Thomas are gracious hosts, excellent conversationalists, generous and caring. We were feeling lousy while we were there and spent a fair amount of time in bed. We especially appreciated the hot tea bar, the special tea that Robert brewed for us, and Thomas’s homemade cookies. By the time we left, it truly felt as thou we had been houseguests with family. Thank you!

The house is amazing and very well done, Street repair was not an issue and the parking was more than adequate. Thomas was a gracious host and his mother, Ms Robyn is an amazing cook. I can't say enough about the breakfast which was a real treat w/mini pancakes w/fresh blueberries & strawberries, a second course of a veggie frittata w/crisp bacon & biscuit! All that a fresh baked banana bread. We love breakfast and this meal on antique china was a real treat. Its a definite stop on our next trip through Paris!

My Mom recently became a resident of a rehab hospital there in Paris. I planned on a long weekend to be able to help care for her. So I looked for a place close by. And what a wonderful place I found in the Old Magnolia house. I stayed in the Blue Room and it was just perfect for my needs. Very clean and very well-kept! Thomas met me out back just as soon as I pulled into the parking area. He grabbed my bag and gave me a grand tour of the house ending in the Blue Room. Every morning he met me around 9 with two breakfasts prepared to go so I could enjoy breakfast with my Mom. She had not been eating very well so I hoped the excellent breakfast would stimulate her appetite... And boy did it ever. She ate more than I had seen her eat in weeks. I can never thank Thomas and his Mother for the kindness they showed and extra mile they went for my Mom. I even found a fresh batch of cookies on the nightstand one night when I got back. Every time I'm back in Paris Texas, I will ALWAYS stay at the Old Magnolia house. There are not enough stars in this review to rate the excellent service I received while there. We had a wonderful stay at the Old Magnolia House B&B! The house is beautiful and the antiques make you feel like a time traveler from the 1800's. The amenities were definitely 20th century, and the hospitality exceptional. From the cookies, strawberry and rose in our room awaiting our arrival to the delicious breakfast. Thomas made our visit to Paris very memorable.

A truly charming bed and breakfast. The house is nicely furnished with antiques and Thomas, the innkeeper, made a delicious breakfast. Our room was comfortable and we appreciated the complimentary bottled water and coffee/tea station. Due to the age of the house we could hear some road noise at night but nothing to distracting once you were asleep. The location of the bed and breakfast is great too, within walking distance to downtown.
