My husband and I just got married at the Ojai Retreat and Inn. It could not have been a more perfect experience. The retreat center is beautiful, situated on the hilltop overlooking the Ojai Valley and the Topatopa Mountains for the perfect view of the famous Ojai pink moment. We did a full venue buy-out and had our immediate families stay on the property. It was delightful enjoying the grounds, watching the birds and rabbits, and admiring the stunning views. The retreat center provided us breakfast every morning so we could visit together and enjoy a delicious meal without having to go off property. There were plenty of areas to visit and catch up, from the scenic Mountain View Terrace to the Living Room at night and when it was raining. There are three separate areas we used for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Each was the perfect location for what we needed it to be. We chose the Pink Terrace Amphitheater for our ceremony, with a stunning view of the mountains. The Waterfall Garden kept our guests surrounded in beauty while my husband and I took pictures in the Meditation Garden during cocktail hour. And the Mountain View Terrace was the perfect place for us to enjoy dinner and dancing under the string lights by the outdoor fireplace. Our guests came from all over the country and kept admiring the view and saying it was God's Country. It was like something out of a fairytale!

And I can't recommend the staff at the Retreat Center highly enough. From Ulrich the founder of the center who first gave us the tour of the property all the way to the housekeeping staff that tidied our rooms throughout the week, everyone was incredible. Oliver worked the front desk and helped us with our tech needs for showing our slideshow on the Retreat TV Monitor. Dana was there the day of our wedding with his kind presence and gifted us a lovely basket for having our wedding there. And Lia the business manager was amazing from start to finish, from the first email with information for booking all the way to leaving us a box of all our guest's lost and found at the end. Her kindness, laid back personality, and the freedom she gave us with our wedding ideas made her a delight to work with. Book the Ojai Retreat for your wedding, and if you're not getting married, just go up for a peaceful, lovely getaway. My husband and I can't recommend the place and the retreat staff enough!

The Ojai Retreat & Inn was everything we could have asked for for our wedding in early November!! We rented the whole property for our wedding party to stay and the weekend felt like a dream oasis! Before the wedding, we were able to immerse ourselves in the serenity of the property at the Ojai Retreat by taking a stroll on the nature path. We also enjoyed nearby restaurants (Bonnie Lu's for breakfast and Ca'Marco for our Rehearsal Dinner) that were a short car ride away. We used the living room area and the upstairs library for getting ready spaces and they were well air-conditioned and provided more than enough space for all of us- without the groom seeing the bride, of course. Then during our ceremony and reception, the beauty of the landscape and views made for marvelous photos and memories! It was truly magical and felt like an enchanted fairytale! On top of the beauty of the property, everyone who works at the Ojai Retreat & Inn is so kind and helpful! A special thank you to Dana and Lia for your help and to all the workers who helped move lawn furniture before our rentals needed to unload. They were so flexible with us and worked with us on our many random questions and requests. We can't wait to come back to the Ojai Retreat & Inn for our anniversaries!!

Such an amazing place. I am so glad I tried the Ojai Retreat, sight unseen, based on a quick internet search. I needed a getaway to rest and relax from a stressful situation. This inn was absolutely perfect in every way. The quiet, natural outdoor setting was so restful for body & mind. It feels like you have the whole place to yourself, at times. There are multiple spots to rest and enjoy the gorgeous mountain view, including the waterfall garden and pink moment terrace - or from your own room. Easy / moderate walking and hiking paths are right nearby. The rooms are clean & quiet. (The furnishings are a bit dated, but fine.) The stars at night are breathtaking. This is definitely not the place to come if you are looking for a party or social hour. If, like me, you need a full stop from the daily grind, you will love it!

Beautiful serene location, very quiet location on a hill. Very comfortable and peaceful stay with a great breakfast the patio overlooking the mountains and valley. Nice common reading area with books featuring local authors. Easy late check in.

Our entire stay was amazing. Beautiful grounds, quiet as can be, Mountain View’s, healthy breakfasts and just what we were looking for. It is now our “Go To” place to luxuriate in Ojai. cannot recommend it enough for a revitalizing getaway.

Unbelievably unfriendly Management. They seem to believe that there’s more special than they are and it’s just a mediocre facility. Disappointing experience all the way around, they may need to figure out how to be warmer and kinder to people who pay good money to stay there. The senior manager, a female, was impatient, and not enjoyable to interact with. Everything else was pretty much on par for a typical Hotel, nothing special. Thank you.

Beautiful property with one of the best views in all of Ojai. I live in LA and go to Ojai often for a get away. This was my first time at this property and it didn't disappoint. It was clean, tranquil, and beautiful. The grounds are well maintained and the staff was very accommodating! I was upgraded to a suite with an amazing secluded view of the Topatopa Mountains that made me not want to leave. Every room DOES NOT HAVE that view so ask before you book!. I will definitely be going back!

Rustic, away from it all, no frills inn. Views are why you stay. The European breakfast was okay, hard boiled eggs, Smart& final croissants and muffins, packets of oatmeal, cold cereal, toast. Fresh fruit was tangerines apples, pears. ||I knew the room had only Folgers coffee so I stopped at the Vons on the road up the hill and picked up some Starbucks so I can make a better coffee myself.||The room itself was super clean. Lots of towels. Great service. I wish the deck and the deck furniture were cleaner and more comfortable. I actually drove down the hill to Vons to buy some Lysol wipes just to wipe down the deck table and chairs. ||In retrospect, I would have brought my own soap shampoo, conditioner, lotion. That what was provided wasn't to my standards..||The shared living room was nice but the air conditioning really didn't cool the room off. I wish they had more places to lounge in the air conditioning near where food dining area was.
