We decided to eat dinner before our friend’s band went on. The food was amazing. Ask for more Chimichuri sauce for the steak frites. Bbq platter was delish. Desserts were so good. Flourless chocolate cake, and tiramisu. Dancing area was fun. This place feels like a locals only, hole in the wall. But service was great and the crowd was friendly.

Steak, rib, mac and cheese, brisket, hot toddy, hot tea, those are the things we ordered and they were delicious. What god they got in the kitchen cooking? It's far away for me, but I'm definitely going back there. So good. And the waitress was so nice, fun and friendly. The lodge inside is well decorated with a homey feeling. And the bathroom is so clean.

This is not a review for food because we went for a concert when the venue was normally closed. Jess Williamson. Cool old school atmosphere, rustic , log cabin, low light. Service was bad in a sense of attitude - the 2 women at the bar could not have been more negative. Long faces, rude attitude. I asked about the house red and did not want Menage a Trois (sorry can't do really really bad wine) - they both rolled their eyes in front of me- coming from hospitality, they get a zero for "way to go after it and make money!" Your life will be infinitely better if a) you like your job and b) if you can make money while doing it. Very untrained staff and it marred my experience. No one knew how to make drinks either. Stick to beer. I will pass on this place on my next visit.

The only cool thing was the way the place looked food was OK at best, my food was cold when I got it and it was nachos. The cheese was cold and I was the last person to get my food in the group and i mean last most of the people i was with finished eating. Its like the people forgot i was even there. Whatever you do don't get the fried calamari, stuff was horrible. I don't think I can find it in myself to travel such a distance for this place.

Delicious food, great service and love the old lodge feel. The pulled pork sandwich was packed with flavor and the tri tip was cooked to perfection. The beer selection was on point! I will definitely go back to try the rest of the menu!

My colleague's and I had a lunch break during our work conference at the Ojai Valley Inn and one of them highly recommended we go to the Ojai Deer Lodge for lunch. It was an excellent suggestion.

The lodge is situated right off a main road with parking out front. There was a nice side courtyard with outdoor seating and ample seating in the rustic lodge. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the sun and fresh air. I would highly recommend that.

The menu selection of food was very diverse at very reasonable prices. I ordered the wild salmon on wild rice with asparagus. The portion was very of good size and the price- just $26.

Overall I would definitely recommend stopping by and checking out the lodge. Although we didn't eat inside I did get a quick tour. There was a small music stage, amazing decor of large antler chandeliers and a bar with a wide range of spirits. I would say it would be fun to come here in the evening. So come check this place out!
