This place was terrible. I rarely write bad reviews, but this place was really bad. I thought it was a good options to try to save a little as other places last minute were quite expensive. But the room did not look like the pictures. The security guy working the front desk said the picture I showed him on the listing was for Victory Suites, but this place. The stairs smelled like urine. The room smelled really strong like bleach. There was no art on the walls. There was a baby roach in the toilet. Several rooms smelled bad as we walked past them. The energy felt overwhelmingly sad through the whole place. It was bad enough I didn't feel comfortable sitting down. We were there for less than 30 minutes and left to find other accommodations. The man at the front desk was kind though.

The rooms aren't great, very basic and minimal. The property itself is shifty and surrounded by fentanyl addicts which leads to a gate that's closes at night kinda leaving you trapped until security opens it. The lady at the front desk is awesome and very helpful. Security seems to make friends with certain tenants to a sometimes unprofessional extent

The place used to be a ghetto hookup spot for heroin and everything else you wanted. But the place tightened up their act and got some decent security. I will say it is safe to stay there even tho it has bad history and was old. Itโ€™s remodeled and itโ€™s secure with a roller gate when you get in. Way better!

This place was ... interesting.

The area was populated by droves of unfortunate homeless folks, sleeping on the sidewalks and darkening shopfronts.

Parking lot could only be accessed through a gate that was opened by a guy standing nearby, and was closed behind you as you went in. Response to the army of homeless, perhaps? There were a number of abandoned cars in the lot, and lots of broken glass ... bottles thrown in from the other side of the razorwire-topped wall.

The room could only be secured by giving the night clerk a hundred dollar CASH deposit. Seemed extremely unorthodox, but thankfully the cash was returned on checkout.

The room was ... well-used and sparsely furnished and decorated. To say it was clean would be complimentary. Other reviews claimed roaches and bedbugs were thick, but that was not our experience. Thankfully.

Would we stay there again? No. Absolutely not. I'd rather sleep in my car.

Absolutely horrid experience, I paid. Over $100 for two nights and when I drove into the gate it was dark and 2 aggressive boys came out of the shadows and one wearing all black put his hand on my car and I asked him what he wanted as I had no idea who he was or why he approached me and I asked him to take his hand off towhich he smirked and put his hand back on my car. I realized once he finally spoke that he was some sort of "intimidation" for the premises to which I was not happy since he approached me aggressively without stating his business and I told him to treat customers better, then the other shady looking person stood next to the other guy to create more of an aggressive atmosphere and I told them I paid over $135 to spend 2 nights there and one of these people accuses me of racial profiling when that same individual said to me, "sorry I thought you were another junkie" and I was the one being profiled.

Then they proceed to tell me where to park as they laugh and make fun of me to my face and then the same man goes to the front desk and I ask him to start speaking to me with more respect and apologize and I escalate the issue to the manager, let her know that her men came aggressively at me and laughed at me in the dark and she talked terribly about me with the man right in front of me and she only attacked me verbally and insulted me and said what her men did was NOT aggressive and I told her as a manager she should be telling him to do a better job not telling me the customer that I am wrong and then she tried to say I couldn't check in because it was past business hours but I read to her an email saying that, "If you check in after hours a security guard will be there to check you in and give your key to you". Then, left with no other recourse, the manager lady said that I was rude and I told her, "I am not being rude" and then out of nowhere she said, "I'm going to ask you to leave now." And I asked her why and I proved to her that the check in details were right which shocked her so essentially she was trying to scam me and then she said, "Get a refund through Expedia" and proceeded to demand I leave the premises and threatened to call the cops on me and I obliged and left due to the fact that private companies reserve the right to kick people off of their property without cause, but still, to a high-paying customer who did nothing unacceptable and to kick them out for no reason was absurd and I gave a few wise words to the workers present on how to do their jobs better.

Now today I go to get my refund from Expedia and Expedia says the hotel marked me as a no-show, even though she said to get my refund from Expedia so this proves that Ocotillo Hotels and Apartments is a scam and terrible, DO NOT GO

SCAMED, LIED TO, ASSAULTED, HARASSED

reason for the low stats is because of bad customer service experience, rooms are very dirty and has roaches, no wifi even tho it says they have it. No food, its in a rough neighborhood, but they have 24/7 guard at the gate. Can't beat the price for the stay that was on par with your average motel 6. (half the cost/nt than a motel 6)
