As I read some reviews before I went to stay here I was a little iffy. But I called four days before the Fourth of July and they said they had a room so I reserved it for three days . Then we decided we wanted to get there even earlier so we called and they still had our room available for us to go there earlier than expected.
As most things that will be at the beach, yes there was a little wear and tear in the room I noticed that some people reacted about some of the rust on some of the door locks and in the shower area. In my mind that’s to be expected when it’s at the ocean. That’s just what salt water does.
I love that they had two swimming pools. which I didn’t get to use either of them because we were too busy with the beach. The bed was super soft and comfortable the kitchen was clean and had the dishes we needed and soap ( since I just had a major neck surgery I still need ice pack so having a real freezer helped me so so much) . the bathroom was clean. For them allowing pets I thought the place was pretty decent and clean. The only thing that we had an issue with was when we open our door the bed was right there at the sliding glass door which we didn’t mind but we noticed the curtains had gaps in between them and if you were to walk by and look and you could see the whole room. So we just laughed about it and took some hair clips and brought them together where they were needed. The parts that did not cover the window were on the bottom and on the side the fire place was so it didn’t show our bed at all . We just didn’t get dressed around that area. The price was right and we will be back again in the summer or winter . Thank you kelvin for being so friendly and kind .

Terrible experience! I didn't sleep at all night. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it was actually worse than a smoking room. ‏it smelled so bad. I would rather sleep in my car. Even a car wash towel is cleaner than the towel provided. I won't be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing.

There is no rating low enough. Do not waste your time! Pictures are not the same. The smell it self. I rather sleep in my car. No refund. Much, much better across the road, so we went there. Almost sure there were things going on you don't want to be around especially around kids. Live & learn!

This is "The" ocean shores hotel. It gives the perfect experience for this town. I think a lot of people writing reviews are comparing to big name hotels, but they completely overlook the amount of character in this building. The hotel gets right what it needs to. The price is also unbeatable for the area

If I didn't book this online and saw the place in person I would have probably slept in my truck. This is by far the worst motel I've stayed at. The lobby is messy and appears the owners friends run it. Very unprofessional. Not at all welcoming. The room smells, the carpet is sticky, the furniture is a hodge podge of junk found on the side of the road, the shower doesn't work, the towels are thin and super old. I think they were white once. The chair has a huge stain on it . The room TV is a 20" monitor that doesn't work. The living room one is a 42" way too high up on the wall. The dining table has patio chairs around it. Don't waste your money. For your own safety stay away. The roof will probably fall in on you. You'll see what I mean if you drive-by. Book somewhere else and do a drive-by. You'll thank me.

I come here everytime I visit ocean shores the rooms are usually nice and spacious and clean. This is my 5th stop here and the service is sweet and informative but this room smells weird and amenities are very weary, but everything else is great they stalk up on everything and make sure u have cleanliness products the people are nice and it’s walking distance from stores and the beach, never found bed bugs or anything. Would come here again

Dont let the pictures fool you this place was trashy. We got the 2 story suite and it looks like they haven't remodeled the place from the 80s. It had a horrible smell from the moment we opend the door. One of the beds had stain. There was no hot water at all. We arrived late to even switch to another room.

Helpful staff when I was there. But the bugs, stains on the carpet/lamp shades/floor/shower curtains/bedding, holes in the walls/floors, and suspicious electrical wiring ruined my family weekend.
The hotel staff said they checked and there were no bed bugs (even though my family came home with bites) so they won't refund me. Most uncomfortable and unfortunate accommodations I've ever had.
Save your money and go somewhere you'll be able to sleep in peace
