We love living at Northwind! The office staff are so kind and helpful. We especially love the beautiful pool, playground & hammocks. Lastly, Mr Mike & Mr Chad (our favorite maintenance men!) respond quickly to requests and always go above and beyond. Thankful to be part of the Northwind community.

I moved in about two months ago and have enjoyed calling it home. Hannah gave me my initial tour and has been fabulous to work with. She helped me secure a washer/dryer from a neighbor that was moving out among other helpful things.

Tenants are friendly and nice that I have encountered. Maintenance staff have been helpful also. Minor repairs on my unit have been made in a timely fashion.

The social evenings that the complex puts together have been fun as well. Ori did a great job of organizing and making it a success.

Michael has always went above and beyond. He came to my apartment about 2 hours after hurricane IDA had hit because my smoke alarm was going off non stop. He is always friendly and always there for a laugh or talk.

Northwind was my home for 3 years and I loved it! The staff was kind and friendly and the maintenance responded to service requests quickly. The community director, Brittany, is as sweet as can be and helped me out whenever I needed it. The apartments and the appliances are a bit outdated and the gym is very minimal, but the other amenities, quietness and safety of the complex makes up for it. I will certainly miss having Northwind as my home.

The Northwind Apartments in Valdosta, GA are nice on the outside, nicely painted inside with very old outdated appliances. The stove, dishwasher, refrigerator are twenty or more years old. Not to mention mismatch black and beige. Maintenance does not fix anything in a timely manner. The kitchen sinks leaks water around the faucet and down into the cabinet damaging items that I have down there under the kitchen sink.

The stove now has a burner that is not working. I have not bothered to report it yet since they never fixed the kitchen faucet leakage. Management sent out a full blown email requiring maintenance check for leaks and check fire alarms that was mandatory they have access to the apartment. I showed the maintenance guy the leak and he claim they would come back by Monday, the inspection was the previous Friday. I put in the maintenance order a few months ago as of the writing they still have not fixed the issue.

Here is the real issue many know Valdosta experience Hurricane Helene back on September 26, 2024. The whole town/city was impacted, devastation all over. Damages to homes, businesses, apartments. No water, electricity, food, etc for over a week. Some people still without power as of this review. While the storm was no individual person or persons fault. You would think businesses would have some compassion to work with people given the disastrous circumstances. The whole city had curfew because traffic lights were out, no businesses were operating, no ATM services . Northwind Apartments require rent be paid on time the first of the month with no grace period. Late fee $150 on the 2nd of the month, an eviction filing $75. I work from home so of course no electricity, no internet I could not work. So this affects my paycheck.

Northwind Apartments file an eviction against me and mind you I just moved into these apartments in mid August. Just moved to the state of Georgia for the first time a few months a prior. I had not been late since moving in here. I had not received anything from FEMA to assist with rent, they were being selective about helping people. But the hurricane was not being selective about who or what devastation it was caused. Anyway, I eventually paid the rent including their fees which amounted to $1,662. I was headed out to get money orders when something told me to check my email. On Thursday, November 21st. I get an email from the manager of the leasing office. Effective immediately no money orders, we are not accepting money orders if you give a money order it will be returned to you.

I’m glad I looked at the email. I had to get certified cashier check the next day, which I asked the assistant manager how soon will this be cleared out of their computer system as updated. She stated “it will be less than 10 minutes.” That was November 22nd Friday. Monday, I received notice that Northwind Apartments attorney filed eviction with the Magistrate Court of Lowndes County. My experience with these business people in Georgia is that, they LIE, and are about money and lazy and do not do their darn jobs. I filed a response in person at the court on Tuesday November 26th. I now have a court hearing to appear about this eviction notice even though rent has been paid. Bottom line DON’T MOVE HERE! You will not get maintenance services done, your appliances are outdated and because unforeseen occurrences befall us all. Hope you don’t have something happen to where you in situation facing an eviction. Northwind Apartments is a subsidiary of Hawthorne Partners based out of North Carolina.
