I recently traveled to Connecticut for work and had the pleasure of staying at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Fatima at the front desk. Her exceptional service truly set the tone for my stay. She provided excellent dinner recommendations, and I ended up dining at The Helmsman, which was a fantastic choice!

Fatima also shared some great suggestions for spa services, and I appreciated her knowledgeable insights. The spa offerings sounded delightful and added to the overall relaxing vibe of the hotel.

The accommodations were top-notch—the beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a long day of work.

I highly recommend the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa for anyone traveling to the area. The combination of attentive staff, great dining options, and cozy rooms made my stay truly enjoyable. I look forward to returning!

Review of Mystic Marriott Hotel, Groton||Stay Dates: Valentine's Day Weekend||Experience Overview:|Our Valentine's Day getaway at the Mystic Marriott Hotel was a thoughtful surprise from our kids. While we appreciated the gesture, the overall experience at the hotel was marred by several operational hiccups.||Accommodations:|The room itself was basic and didn't exude luxury, but it was acceptable for what we needed. However, the thin walls were a significant drawback; we were disturbed by loud neighbors, particularly on our last morning which prompted an early checkout.||Dining Experience:|We had made dinner reservations for the Valentine's special at the hotel's restaurant, but upon arrival, our reservation was not found despite having an email confirmation. The initial seating options were not suitable for a special occasion like Valentine's Day - we were offered a bar seat or a high-top near the kitchen door. After some wait, we were seated at a table, but the service was slow. The appetizers were satisfactory but not exceptional, and the main course took over an hour to arrive, leading us to request it be sent to our room. The restaurant did send a complimentary bottle of wine, though it was only a partial bottle after we had already paid for two glasses.||Spa:|One bright spot was the spa. The services we paid for were excellent, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, providing a stark contrast to our dining experience.||Customer Service and Operations:|Front Desk: There were issues with communication; some staff members had difficulty with English and occasionally seemed hostile. |Follow-up: After complaining about the noise, we were promised Marriott rewards points, but follow-up was poor. There was confusion and delay in processing these points. ||Responsiveness: Calls to the restaurant often went unanswered, requiring us to leave messages with no response. Post-checkout, we struggled to get an itemized bill, involving several departments and a significant wait time.||Conclusion:|While the staff tried to be accommodating, the overall management of the hotel, especially concerning dining and guest services, seemed disorganized. The dining experience was particularly disappointing for a special occasion, and the operational issues detracted from what was intended to be a relaxing getaway. |Rating: Based on our experience, I would rate this stay at 2 out of 5 stars. Better organization and communication could significantly improve the guest experience at the Mystic Marriott Hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights last week. We assumed that this is a five star hotel. Even luggage strollers were not available because they have the “bus persons” to do the transfer of your luggage from your car to your room for you.||The ambience of the hotel was nice. The room is spacious. However, there were a couple of flaws during our stay:||1. They have a Starbucks on the ground level close to the lobby. It is operated by the hotel, not a true Starbucks hence you cannot use the Starbucks app, which is totally fine with me. Just don’t let the décor of the coffee place mislead you.||2. I was told by the “bus person” that the place closes at 4pm. So after settling down in our room a little bit after 3pm, I went downstairs to that place to get a coffee. I was not paying attention until I got back to my room, only to find out that the coffee that they gave me was not even lukewarm. Very disappointed.||3. Housekeeping: Housekeeper knocked at our door for housekeeping but we were not ready to get out of our room so my wife told her to come back 15 minutes later so that we could get dressed and head out. However, later that evening when we returned to our room, we found out that our room was serviced.||4. The next morning during check out, I told the guest service officer about the issue. She appeared to be indifferent about it and just told me that she will note it down and notify their housekeeping department.||5. This is very disappointing because I work in the front line as well. Working in a 5 star hotel, if I were her, I would have be empathetic and apologize to the customer for the inconvenience caused. Totally disappointed.||Matter of attention: Not good or bad, just a matter of fact. Although close to the highway, this hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive out of the hotel property to get everything that you need.

Two good things about this place are the location and it seemed clean. The bad is we were allegedly given a king bed. It must have shrunk in the dryer. The worst and most frustrating part was that nobody could tell us what the weird box next to our door was. Three people had absolutely no idea and a guy from engineering said it was a door alarm. When I asked what it alarmed for he said it was a smoke detector. It's definitely not a smoke detector. He was very shady about the whole thing and while I doubt it is something bad, it's ridiculous that nobody could accurately and succinctly describe it.

Also, I was given a late checkout. The cleaners tried to enter the room before checkout time. I left with most of my stuff and when I returned, the room was already overrun with cleaners before my checkout time.

We stayed here as a family for a few nights and cannot recommend enough. Cindy, the front desk manager was so amazing. She helped my family with everything! She worked so hard to find us connecting rooms, gave my kids toys to play with, and found us a car service to take us to town! She went above and beyond. The hotel is great for kids and close to town! Highly recommend.

I had high expectations based on the other reviews.. I only stay at Marriot properties. It's a beautiful hotel but...
Unfortunately our bathroom sink was clogged up for 2 days. I had to report it 3 different times (third time more persistent with a mad face ). Finally was fixed. We were leaving the next day soooooo. For a 3 night stay it was crazy having to brush our teeth in the shower.

My husband and I have stayed at this Marriott several times and we have always found the Marriott to be reliable and consistent in its cleanliness, comfort and its attention to small details.
By small details, I am referring to the extra pillow and blanket that could be found in the closet, the coffee maker and the small bottles of products that were in the bathroom, all contributing to making the room a little cozier and warmer. One does not realize how much one misses these “little details” until they are no longer available, When I addressed it with the front desk, there was barely a response! In addition, I had asked for a rubber mat for the shower because it was very slippery! I was assured that one would be brought up to the room but it never appeared! We always look forward to spending a few nights at the mystic Marriott and always depart with a smile. However this time, I left a little saddened because it just was not what it used to be!!

Very elegant hotel. Stayed here for the weekend for an event being hosted inside the hotel. Immaculately clean inside the hotel as well as the rooms. Elegant front lobby and really enjoyed the bar. Did not get to eat at the restaurant but heard from fellow colleagues that it was wonderful. There is also a salon spa at this location but was not willing to pay the prices that they were asking for. It's a bit overpriced.
