Brought my wife for lunch, we could not be more pleased with this hidden gem! The appetizer and entree were served piping hot! The catfish was delicious and the pork chops were an excellent thick cut that were more than filling. We tried 4 different sides, all were amazing and will make you feel like you’re having Sunday dinner at Grandmas house! If you’re looking for southern comfort food or looking for something international! Give Musulyn’s a try! Our server Asia was excellent and we will definitely be back! Outstanding!

Just left this place from having brunch. This was a new experience for us because we didn’t know that this was here, but I’m glad we do now. The restaurant was clean, and the ambiance was relaxing. A total vibe. The gospel music they played was low and set the mood. Our hostess Erica was prompt, polite, and a total sweetheart. She always had a warm smile when she approached us, and didn’t mind explaining things about the menu items.

My husband ordered the Musulyns breakfast, with a side of bananas foster French toast. He enjoyed everything. I ended up going with the shrimp and grits, and I also added a side of bananas foster French toast. The shrimp and grits were savory, and the French toast was rich and sweet. Overall everything was great. The chef did amazing on both the food as well as the presentation of it all. We will definitely return.

Erica was the best! Made wonderful recommendations. It was our first time. I cleaned my plate. And I never clean a plate! Hats off to the chef! Gosh it was so dang good. We will be coming back. Ox tails, salmon, greens, rice and those sweet potato muffins…OMG!!!

Wow! What a rare find! In the otherwise mundane restaurant scene of Covington Georgia sits Musulyn’s. A true chef run restaurant with an eclectic blend of traditional Southern and West African offerings. We started our meal with a Paradise Roll, which was just amazing, with an incredible depth of flavor. For the main course, I opted for the Braised Oxtails with rice and sweet plantains. It’s impossible to describe the richness she achieved in this preparation. Do not miss the opportunity to experience this excellent restaurant and the beautiful dishes whipped up by Chef Carmenia. (And shout out to Erica for excellent service!)

We were warmly greeted upon arrival to the restaurant which was just a prelude to the level of service we received. The ambiance was giving 'warm and cozy', and was decorated with touches of the Caribbean and Africa - backgrounds from which the menu was created.

Our waiter "J" (can't recall his name) was so patient and kind in answering my & my bestie questions about the menu. Then, when I say the food presentation was on point, too! Beautifully plated meals delivered with positive vibes! I had the fried red snapper & jollof rice with collard greens and she ordered the braised oxtails & jollof rice with macaroni and cheese. With one bite of my snapper and garnish, the food danced in my mouth! Every ounce of food tasted fresh and the flavors were perfect! This was both our first visit to Musulyn's and we will be back.

As an enthusiast for Afro fusion cuisine , I was thoroughly impressed by my visit to Musulyn’s. The oxtail and jollof rice were outstanding—the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, richly seasoned, and paired perfectly with the fragrant, tomato-infused jollof rice. The dish was bold, comforting, and packed with flavor.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carmenia, the executive chef and owner, who hails from Liberia. Her passion for blending African and Southern flavors is evident in every bite. Her warm hospitality and dedication to authenticity made the experience even more memorable.

Chef’s Recommendation: The oxtail with jollof rice is a must-try. For an unforgettable meal, explore their plantains, stews, or any dish showcasing their creative fusion. I’ll definitely be back for more.

We have eaten here twice and really enjoyed it both times. This last time we had the love roll, plantain boat, and cassava leaf. Delicious food and inviting staff.
Both times we visited we did have to wait a while for the check, so if you are in a hurry, just ask for it when you get your food. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating!

You MUST try this hidden gem in Covington! This was our first time here. We were looking for something different without having to drive into downtown Atlanta. What a beautiful surprise this place was. The service is as amazing as the food and cocktails. Chef Carmenia was the second person to greet us once we were seated. The menu items are creative and just reading it through makes you want to try everything! This is how we ended up ordering more food than we could eat. I have a culinary background so, I can appreciate the presentation and freshness of the ingredients that were brought to our table. The oxtails were THE BEST I’ve ever had. They were so tender, you could eat them even if you didn’t have teeth. Erica (our waitress) was patient, polite and attentive. Jacque (the bartender) was equally creative. My wife and I tried his twist on a Moscow Mule but, his came with an ice cube made with ginger beer. This is our new go-to spot for Caribbean cuisine. We can’t wait to go back!
