Wow, so glad we made a last minute decision to head to Tishomingo Ok for a night! We stayed at The Mulberry in the Naughty Pine and it was amazing! They have thought of everything! It’s between a luxury hotel or super nice Bed & Breakfast. It sits on Main Street right across from Ole Red. The downtown is so charming with just enough sass! Great places to shop and just hang with music and a glass of wine. Drinking coffee this morning from the balcony watching the small town sleep. This town is a hidden gem! We are wondering what Main Street will be like at Christmas! We might need to come back to The Mulberry and find out! I need to see The Judge room to do a good comparison. If you want to get away somewhere and just relax this is place! I would The Mulberry and Tishomingo a 10 star not just 5.

The inn has very unique decor. The location was perfect, parking and check-in both easy. It seemed like we were possibly the only ones there, so noise was not an issue, although ear plugs were provided, which had me a little worried. Bathroom could use some TLC…wall paper was peeling, tub was old and shower curtain had mildew on it.

We had a wonderful stay at mulberry inn. The rooms are spacious and the decor is stunning. In fact the entire design is amazing. The bathrooms had claw foot tub and a fabulous shower. The beds were comfortable. Lived everything about it!!! Wish we could’ve stayed longer!!!

Take my review with a grain of salt, I am generally a hotel traveler so this was outside my normal environment. I stayed in a standard room, not one of the 3 more luxury rooms, so your experience may differ.

I wanted to stay somewhere different and was pleased, but it did lack in a few areas

- The good

It’s cute, hip, and rustic. It’s the kind of place photogenic people cant resist taking pictures in every room they go in.

The location is awesome. I stayed on a Thursday night so things were slower than I would imagine a Friday/Saturday being. But the balcony overlooking downtown Tish gave off the small town vibe that you see in the movies. People riding back and forth, up and down the strip. Overlooking Ole Red is a nice feature also.

I didn’t use the lounge room but I could see it being a great space if you come with friends.

The bed was very comfortable and not overly soft like many hotel beds, your own bathroom with complimentary hair and body products is convenient.

Complimentary water bottles, orange juice, and pastries

- The Bad (this is where my lack of experience in an inn like this may show)

There was a lot of features I’m accustomed to having in hotels that I didn’t have here. It’s completely logical not to have them, but if you don’t often seek out rooms like this you may not be prepared.

No ice machine

No iron (in the room, there may have been one I could have borrowed)

No complimentary breakfast, there were pastries and coffee though (the boomerang diner is just a short walk up the road as well)

I had my own personal (not shared) bathroom, but it was detached from the room, at the end of a hallway.

-The Ugly

While I ultimately enjoyed my experience, the biggest issues I had were partly on the inn itself, and part just bad luck on mine. The walls are very thin, and don’t do much at all to damper sounds from outside or other rooms. This became pretty aggravating issue around 4:30 pm in Thursday when trying to take a nap a few people came in to stay in the room beside me. They were pretty unreasonably loud. Slamming doors and very vocally complaining about the check in process

Then 5:30am Friday morning their alarm started going off, and for close to 30 minutes they started the cycle of snoozing their alarm repeatedly. That left me going back to sleep at the mercy of them deciding when to get up. Causing as much noise leaving as they did coming. I fell back to sleep quickly and slept like a rock again though.

This is a small renovated old building downtown. It’s super cute and very clean. There are only a handful of rooms. Everything we needed was provided and communication was good with the staff. There was no staff on site while we were there. They provided a code to the lobby and another code to our room. We checked in via an iPad at the front desk. Staff texted to check on us and allowed a later check out. The lobby had coffee, juice, water and donuts. The only down side and why I didn’t give 5 stars is the noise, as previously mentioned. We stayed on a Monday night so only a handful of guests. The bar right above us was closed, which helped with the noise. You can hear everyone coming, going and every voice as it’s a small place. It worked out fine for us and we enjoyed our stay!

Our room was small as stated in room description probably around 150 sq/ft. The room chair was an old hair salon chair including the drying hood, neat. Unfortunately, our private bathroom was across a public hallway; which we were not expecting. Also not expecting that one thermostat would apparently control the HVAC for all 5 guests rooms in that area. Learn to love 67° degrees.

My daughter and I stayed and we enjoyed our comfortable, clean room. I purposely seek out historic hotels in smaller towns and this did not disappoint. We were arriving after 5:00 pm so the self check-in was our best option and it was easy to do.

We had the two queen room and it was spacious. The breakfast upstairs is nice. I had oatmeal while my daughter had pancakes. They also had cereal, muffins, etc. Overall a great value.
