The facility and rooms are very nice. The people are very friendly and helpful. I was there for two days and all the restaurants in the resort were closed aside from a snack bar. This would not be so bad but the location of the resort is several miles from anywhere else to eat.
They advertise that they are pet friendly. I booked online and paid. Then once I get there I find out there is an $89.00 pet fee. 🤦

This place used to be one of our favorite places to visit.
However, the staff at the hotel desk and the staff in the casino are unfriendly and act like the guests are a bothering them.
16 years ago, you felt very welcome. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome.
The slot machines paid out a small pittance which I guess is better than paying out nothing.
The rewards are awesome! Free hotel room, over $200 in free slots and a food voucher. They do have drawings all throughout the day, but higher the win, they don't call out names, they just say, "someone hit, check your reward card."
The DJ was awesome both evenings.
I wish I could have given a higher rating, but they need to implement a training program to teach their staff how to treat their patrons.

The air quality of the casino was awful. It didn't matter if you were in the non smoking side or not...you were smoking.
The room was not what I would expect for the cost. The bed was hard, very uncomfortable and the temperature in the room wasn't controlled no matter what you set it to.
The food...ahh the food. Well, after ordering a burger and eating only 1/4 of it and a Margherita that tasted musty, I spent the evening with my head over a not so clean toilet! While down there, your floors aren't clean either.
Attempted to find a good cup of coffee before checking out, severely early, I asked the gentleman at the front desk if he could direct me to a cup of coffee that didn't taste of a horses ass. He suggested Big Al's.
Nope...still like a horses ass and a not so friendly staff. I suppose that's what $7.00 coffee tastes like..
We will not return nor recommend to say the least.
Oh yes and if you advertise a Spa, maybe having it open so I could waste some more money would've been a good option seeing how every aspect of our visit was a bust.

My girlfriend and I have been dying to come back after having a wonderful anniversary here two years ago. I wish we would've just waited.

First off the hotel side was booked so we had to settle for the lodge side, which wouldn't be so bad if you weren't treated like a second class citizen by the hotel staff. No elevators, a maze to find your room (up one flight of steps, go down the hall, go down one half flight of steps, direct me to a room that doesn't exist). No thanks. I doubt there will be a next time but I wish I would've just waited another week and booked a room on the hotel side just to be treated like a human being. At least we were able to use the pool and hot tub this time.

Dinner at the steakhouse was good but heaven forbid you actually dress halfway decently in a nice restaurant. I feel like I was in Bizarro World the whole time I was here.

We intended to gamble after we checked out but after our exhausting misadventures we decided just to leave and not give this place any more of our money. Congratulations Mountaineer, you did not fail to disappoint..

Do not visit. I was here for a business trip in the "lodge". The carpet is so old that you can't roll your bag down the hall. Outdoor locks are inoperable so anyone can come into your hall, it is not safe. The water is so hot that it causes burns on contact. No microwave. Room temperature control is from the 1970s. HVAC blows shitty air into your room, no door seals. I have stayed at a travel lodge better than these rooms. Never again.

Quick overnight trip with friends. Our first time we have been. We had a good time but was surprised to not have a hair dryer in our room. The bedding and bed were clean and comfortable, nice fluffy towels. Where we were located the room was quiet. Also we spent Wednesday night and sadly the two nicer Restaurants were closed. And only having one breakfast option was a bit of a disappointment. Saw photos of fresh waffles in the binder in the room and looked forward to that. Website says there is a Buffet. If it’s there we sure didn’t find it. Want to come back when the Horses are racing.

This was the first time we had to bring our dog. The room was real nice and clean. You would never of known there ever were dogs in there. We had a great time. Too bad we didn't hit anything. Was close to impossible to even get some play money 💰

very pleasant experience. Even in the midst of renovation, our floor and room were clean, and we stayed on the first floor, which has not be upgraded yet. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was very friendly, polite, and genuinely seemed to care if our needs were being met. the only cons? the rooms could use sound tiles, you can hear just about every word from the next room (unsettling at best), there are no coffee pots in the room, and it was surprising that the only sidewalk not shoveled was the one around the handicapped parking. (thought about asking for a room discount if I cleared them for them, lol) on the plus side, the room rate was on the lower end of what we usually have to pay elsewhere, the food & drink prices were definitely the lowest we've encountered. And the food was good! now if they would just comp a room for us now & again, we'd be back even more often!!!!
