Whenever we visit Callaway Gardens, I make sure to stop into the Whistling Pig to grab some BBQ. The meals are generous & reasonably priced, very tasty too! When you unwrap a sandwich & can practically taste the smokiness just from the aroma of the meat, that's some good BBQ. The day I ordered, the daily special was spaghetti, side salad, toast & drink for $9 - that's cheaper than a meal from McDonald's & easily 10xs better!
They also have fresh made pork rinds & do NOT miss the desserts! I'm not sure what the cake is called but it's in the fridge - layers of yellow cake with cool whip-like frosting with hints of crushed pineapple & mandarin orange. Sooooooo good 😋
Be prepared for a full, busy parking lot & a little bit of a wait. Customers & staff are super friendly so no shortage of people to chit-chat with while waiting 😄

Enjoyed visiting this Pine Mountain Icon. The service was friendly and fast, with reasonable prices. The food was good, and there was more of it than I could eat. My particular favorite was the fried green tomatoes, and the mustard BBQ sauce. I will definitely plan to visit here again.

What a great barbecue restaurant! Wife said the ribs were as good as any she had ever had, I love my cheesburger which was smoked! I highly recommend you go here even if it looks busy because it will be busy because it is so good! The line was long but moved very quickly, I have no complaints at all will eat here when we come back to FDR.

Excellent BBQ...check times for when they are open. Good sweet tea. Hot food. Homemade cracklings. Went back for day 2....awesome food! Highly recommend the baked potatoes!

The service was great, the food was ok, and my partner was called a slur by another customer in the parking lot. Obviously, the owner/employees aren't responsible for this experience, but the food was not good enough to risk that kind of encounter again 🤷‍♀️

We dine here at least once a year while visiting Calloway Gardens during the Christmas season—they never disappoint! The food is always spot on; usually a big crowd around lunchtime (for good reason) but the line moves rather quickly.

The staff is friendly and the food comes fast. We sat outside and it was perfect outside.
The buffalo chicken potato was so good and cooked perfectly. The lunch discussion country fried steak was good and moist. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was good and the potatoes themselves were good. The Brunswick stew has a heavy bbq sauce taste but it was still tasty.

The food is way to salty. I received the fried steak fingers and it was salty. There's a difference between seasoned and salty. I couldn't finish my order. My husband got the pulled pork...it was bland we added the BBQ sauce but it just lacked seasoning and flavor to give it that BBQ taste. My kids got the hot dogs.
