The Merry Acres Event Center is beautiful!!! They recently renovated the entire space and our group loved the space, the bartender and management. The floors and walls are a gorgeous backdrop for pictures. They were really accommodating and even asked for feedback for future events. Don't hesitate to book with them!

I believe (because of new management) the rooms are in the process of being renovated also, but though they were a little antiquated they were good for the price. Mostly though, it was an easy walk for our group after a night of drinks delicious food and fun!!!

Hotel office staff were very polite and professional.
My room was dirty.
My room was outdated.
Bathroom was dirty.
The room floor was dirty.
Bathroom floor and sink was filthy. Bathroom sink & counter had a lot of facial hair present when I arrived.
Parking lot is dark and felt unsafe.

I have stayed at this hotel under the two previous owners - spanning 20 years. Now- Rooms not ready. Had to change rooms because they were not ready. On hold at front desk for ages. Food. at the pub is mediocre. The pub is more like a tomb. There is no advantage to staying here. Breakfast is not even ready on the morning before k ba e to go to work. I have stayed here three times under the new ownership and they have demonstrated no interest in maintaining anything that made this hotel unique. Even the framed photo I presented to the hotel by one of the United kingdom's foremost sporting photographers has disappeared from the pub. Why not return if you don’t want it. ?

I don’t know who to address these grievances. There is a sign to leave comments on Google so here I am. You have set up your from desk employees to fail Very sad.

Room was clean & nice, Staff on check was pleasant & even on checkout was nice. We stayed following a company Christmas party. We was unaware of the wild roaming rosters that started crowing at 5am. We was then charged for two night even though we only booked 1 night & only stayed 1 night. When I went back to see about have the 2nd charge reversed I was told management was in a meeting & no one could even look at the double charge till after 11PM.

Bathroom is disgusting. Mat in shower is discolored and tub itself is stained. The bed is uncomfortable. Lastly, a faulty fire alarm in our room started going off at 6:45am and they did not send anyone to fix it before we got frustrated and decided to leave and drive home.

I recently stayed at this inn. The staff was awesome from the front desk clerk to the bartender in the restaurant area. I was there for almost a week on business and they treated me very nicely. The room was clean and they are remolding/updating a lot of things. I would definitely recommend. I will be back in a few weeks and look fwd to staying again. I’m giving 4⭐️ for the room because it was clean and in the front by the office for convenience with parking. Minus 1 star because my room was updated yet but still nice and clean. I’m giving 5⭐️because the staff was excellent !!! Definitely southern charm!! Location I’m giving it 5⭐️it was very charming location and the free roaming roosters and chicken were a hoot lol! But it was not to far from restaurants and where I was working.

The property is old and rundown. Our first room was disgustingly dirty. The bathroom had not been cleaned from previous occupants. Toliet seat was filthy. The blackout curtains were missing so only shears covered the windows that faced the parking lot. Since the room was ground level anyone could see in.
They moved us to the "executive suite" which also disappointing. The wallpaper was peeling from the walls. The refrigerator contains previous occupants left over food and drinks, which proves that housekeeping staff is consistently incompetent.
There is so many roosters and chickens running around the grounds and as previously stressed in other reviews, start crowing at 2:30 AM.
There are no redeeming qualities to this property.

We have stayed many times. Perfect snd charming full of history. The staff are always accommodating, 100%. While there are many lodging options, we find this is the best choice.
