My wife and I visited here from out of town not expecting much but we were blown away. The service was attentive and polite. The food was hot, quick, plentiful and very tasty. We went for lunch and it wasn't too crowded. The spinach artichoke dip was the bomb. They gave us 8 Italian donuts and they were so huge we took 4 home! Plus they were only $9. The food overall was priced very fairly.

This is a unique place. There are individual swing seats around the bar. On Friday night they serve only paella. It had a mix of chicken, shrimp and chorizo. It was all cooked in a large paella pan outside near the bar. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. My wife enjoyed a frozen Margarita and I enjoyed a Bloody Mary.

First time here. The pizzas were amazing. I had their meat and my wife ordered their veggies with the red sauce. For dessert we both had their homemade cannoli and they were excellent. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Was nice to have the manager check in with us.

My boyfriend and I were exploring Tallulah Gorge for the day and when we were finished we were starving. I told him I’d search Google maps for restaurants nearby when i stumbled upon Max’s Lakeside as the 2nd restaurant that popped up in the list and I’m SO glad I did!!

The place is absolutely a hidden gem up a twisty turny road by Lake Rabun. When you pull into the parking lot behind the restaurant, you’ll discover the cutest outdoor bar I’ve ever seen with seats that are made of swings!

We thought about sitting at the bar to eat, but I decided I really wanted a bit of air-conditioning after a very warm day hiking around so we went inside the dining room.

I’m so glad we did it because we met the brand new server, Amber who was absolutely awesome! Super personable, sweet, and definitely on the ball with everything, including a constant flow of refills on drinks for my guy without ever having to ask.

We chose the Burrata appetizer and it was SO good! The pesto sauce on the plate was seriously delicious. I scooped up every last bit. The bread sticks were delicious as well. I wish I took a pic to share.

For dinner I got the shrimp scampi and my love got the meatball sub with a side salad. Both were delicious. We debated getting a pizza because they looked excellent and they had a great variety.

For desert we got the Italian donuts which were puffed pizza dough with a cinnamon sugar that came with caramel and chocolate to dip and they were nice and hot and so delicious. It came with at least 8 on the plate so plenty to take home.

When we’re back up exploring in the area I know we’ll be back. We’ve definitely added Max’s to our favorites.

The food, the service and the atmosphere were all incredible! I had the skillet roasted shrimp and the Bianca pizza. This was the best pizza I've ever had. The shrimp was also amazing!

The weather was great and we sat outside. The server was also great and another one stopped by and offered some helpful tips. Can's wait to come back.

We stayed at the Lake Rabun Hotel for the week during our wedding ceremony at Toccoa Falls. We came for a light dinner one afternoon and everything was great. Norah was quick and attentive and kind and did an even better job once we learned she stayed late to help as they were short staffed. The swing bar looks cool and we looked around even though it wasn’t open, except on the weekends. We are excited to return when we move to GA this summer.

Wow what a fabulous surprise on Lake Rabun! NY style pizza and a very well done version. Perhaps one of the better pizzas I have ever had. Service was superb. Atmosphere was very welcoming. Setting stunningly beautiful, right on the lake. The road is tight and twisty but the drive is so worth it! There is a lower level parking lot. This is a don’t miss spot! Top of the excellent dinner with some decadent cinnamon cover dough pillows. You won’t be disappointed!
