The location cannot be beat if visiting someone on UD’s campus. As close to campus as you can get, but far enough away not to have to worry about noise or traffic. Plenty of parking and seemed safe. ||Rooms were clean, modern, and spacious. We had two queen beds and a balcony. We did not have a river view, but it appears the other side of the hotel would have a nice view of the river. ||Bathroom was small but well lit. I love having a standalone shower. Only issue was lack of sufficient shelving in the shower for my needs. The hotel offers built-in dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - I prefer to bring my own items and there was only one teeny shelf to fit everything I had. I was also not a fan of the frosted barn door for the bathroom door - the inside showed water stains that made it look dirty, and not having a lock makes you lose a sense of privacy when sharing a room. ||We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant in the morning. Service and food were both good, and prices were fairly reasonable. ||Overall, this was a great place to stay in the Dayton area, particularly for friends and family of UD students.

We have enjoyed our stays at this property. Our rooms have been great. The level of support from all the staff is super. The front desk staff sets a high bar right from the start. Kudos to them and their manager/supervisor. The initial check-in engagement says this is a well run property.

After a long day of traveling, was given a warm greeting by Sandra at the front desk. She was incredibly courteous and made sure to ask if I needed anything and recognize me for my status at Marriott. Helped make sure I had everything I needed for my stay and felt comfortable that I was able to work in comfort on my trip.

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had !!!!!
We checked in at 9:57 PM on 03 12 2025 the check-in was smooth enough it would have been nice if we had been advised at check-in of a 14.95 charge for breakfast. We were only told breakfast was served from 6 until 10 AM.
We were fraudulently charged for 2 breakfasts that were eaten on 03 12 @8:30AM when I found the charge by checking my bank online on 03 13 I called the hotel and the rep that I spoke with said she would have to pull the receipts from the restaurant before they can issue a refund
So now there is a 128.00 hold on my funds.
. She stated she would call me back before her shift ended at 3:30 to let me know what they were going to do. Of course, she didn't call me back.
When we got back to the hotel that night we stopped at the front desk and explained the situation again only to be told there was no management on duty that night but he would leave all the info for management to review the next day.
We waited until lunchtime to hear from the manager, but never got a call so we went down to the front desk again and related the info again to the rep who went and got receipts from the restaurant, we waited while they went through the receipts, all the time the manager is checking in guests and finally comes over and we relay the info again and I asked what is so difficult about this? We were NOT even checked in when the charge was applied to the room!!. The manager finally says to go ahead and credit the charge!! The next day when we got ready to check out the charge was still pending with hold in place. The agent advised us that check-in out could take 5 to 7 days before they have the hold lifted!! We were told we're sorry for the inconvenience!!! We expected better from Marriott.

So frustrated. Confirmed late checkout. I had zoom meetings and needed the room until 1pm. On the app it said 3pm confirmed.|Around 11 I hear a knock on the door and loud yell “housekeeping! Housekeeping!” I explain I had 3pm checkout and she apologized. No big deal. I had to do not disturb sign up but it happens. 45 min later I’m in a zoom meeting and it happens again. The yelling and knocking with the do not disturb sign up. Same lady!! She seemed annoyed but I explained I had it confirmed on the app and would probably leave around 1pm. Then at 12:45 I’m almost out the door and she knocked and yelled again. With the do not disturb sign on. So incredibly rude. If I couldn’t get late checkout I would have made alternate plans, but it was confirmed. I would not recommend this place to others.

The hotel itself is fine, plenty of parking and clean. . I found the lounge for elites to be very nice and the woman in the lounge was fantastic. The rooms could use a remodel. The shower is not typical for Marriots I typically stay at. It’s very old. My biggest reason for the low score is the constant sound of trains all night long. If you wake up to noise easily this would be a place to avoid.

Spent 2 nights this week at UD Marriott - I agree with a lot of the past reviews, both positive and negative. The checkin wasn't warm and welcoming, felt as if I bothered them to be transparent. The room was comfortable, clean - musty smell, mentioned it to the front desk and was told “no one has ever reported that before, I’ll let someone know”. I’m pretty sure when I return and ask for that room it won’t be resolved. The bartenders could make bank if they smiled and didn’t seem bored - 2 nights, different staff, same vibe - interesting culture at this hotel. They were great with clearing the parking lot after the snow! The carpets in hallways are bubbled, a fall risk for sure. The place has opportunities to be great, these are all easy fixes if they want to fix it - reading reviews it seems to be pattern of the same and all talk from manager. The location is great, plenty of great food options nearby

Fantastic service and love staying at this hotel! The staff is very welcoming and they take great pride in making sure your stay is exemplary. This is the only hotel I stay at when I travel to Dayton. The M Club is great with a variety of snacks and drinks.
