I spent a night in the Magnolia Room. The bed was comfortable. The robe was so soft and warm. In the dining room, there is a water kettle ready for guests to make instant coffee, tea or hot chocolate. I enjoyed the pecan pumpkin bread that Emily, one of the innkeepers, had baked where she placed the baked goods of the day on the dining room table. In the kitchen, you can also make some coffee with a coffeemaker. There are nice little touches with products that you might forget such as tiny toothpaste tubes and shampoo/conditioner/body lotion as well as decor and knickknacks making this Victorian house homey. The den is cozy, perfect for movie night. This house is perfect location to walk to WOU campus or into downtown where you can easily find a place to eat or go shopping. Main Street Park is right across the street. There are great areas inside and outside of the house where you can sit with friends and family. The carriage house is available to rent out for a small group and it's ADA accessible. By the way, the house itself isn't ADA accessible because it's historic and originally built in 1891. One thing that may bother people is that there is loud music from Dry Town Beer and Wine place a block away during the evenings, but they stop the loud music around 10 pm. Overall, it's quiet here. At check out, I finally met the other innkeeper Eli which we had a nice chat.

What an unexpected surprise. The pictures made it look welcoming but when you get there the detail of the house is great. We stayed in the den on the top floor which was perfect for me and my family. It is essentially 2 rooms so we can have some privacy.
Luckily I had the right expectations for staying in a house of that era so the few things like our room being stuffy and having enough water for a full hot bath weren't a big deal. The water reheats pretty quickly and there was an A/C - heater in our room. I don't have much need to go to Monmouth but I'm hoping to go for another weekend to stay here.

What a wonderful experience my husband and I had staying here. We had never been to the town before and MaMere's was a great central location to lots of walkable places to explore. Ample street parking, easy check-in, good communication.||We ended up being the only people staying that evening and found it delightful. There are games downstairs that you can borrow, so we did so. There was complimentary tea in the room as well as downstairs, and lots of information on the history of the home and the area.||The room itself where the bed was definitely reflected a time period where rooms weren't meant to be giant, but it was ample for the two of us and our one carry-on each. The bathroom, though, was a room in itself which was very nice.||Breakfast was very pleasant and well thought out. Our hostess was great fun to talk to and spent time with us, which is good since my husband is a talker. She was very nice to speak with about kids since I was a little over 6 months pregnant at the time.||The hospitality here makes it special. We will go out of our way to stay here again if we are near the area in the future.

What a beautiful work of art this guest house is! Each room is so unique and lovely. I loved the one at the very top! Emily and Eli are such gracious hosts too. Monmouth and Independence are just adorable with great shops and restaurants to enjoy. Wine country is all around as well so there's always something to do. I highly recommend you give MaMere's Guest House a visit!

A friend and I stayed in the Wolf Den two nights to attend a book art conference held at the university. Location was great, we walked to classes and restaurants for dinner. We brought groceries for our breakfast & lunch and conveniently used the refrigerator and dining table for those meals. Another plus was making friends with a MaMere’s guest attending the same conference. The only down side was no shower, the bathtub has a hand held shower system, a bit awkward for my aging body! Would I stay here again, yes.

This was my first time in a bed and breakfast and after my experience it won't be my last. Even before I arrived I was impressed with their website which was full of tips and links to help me plan my trip. Emily and Eli were great hosts: I was welcomed and shown around but then given the space to do my own thing while knowing they were easily reachable if needed. I stayed in the Starry Night room which has a cool painted ceiling and a huge attached bathroom. There were so many special touches...welcome cookies, a coffee/tea station in my room, complimentary robe and bath products, and plenty of plugs ins for electronics. I lucked out with weather and was able to spend one evening out in the backyard where there's a gazebo with cozy chairs and a pretty flower trellis. For a rainy day there's a whole wall of movies, books, and games you can use. ||Monmouth itself is a good central location to easily get to Portland, the coast, and lots of wineries. It was easy to walk to multiple businesses from the B&B. Would recommend dinner, drinks, and live music at Dry Town Tap Station, dessert at Main Street Ice Cream Parlor, and chai tea at The Sippery.

I cannot say enough about our wonderful stay at Ma Meres! It was perfect! The hosts are so welcoming and served an amazing breakfast. We also got fresh homemade cookies in our room when we arrived!
The house decor is antiques mixed with funky art and cute room themes. There is a lovely outdoor patio area, plus places to sit and relax inside (there is even wine to purchase). The bed was super comfy and there were wonderful touches everywhere like the most cozy robes I’ve ever had on and a Keurig coffee maker in the room. This is a perfect place to stay with in the wine country! Highly recommended!!!
