Stopped here on a trip from MA / CT. This is a take out only restaurant. But the owner let us sit and eat inside. The food was fantastic. This would be be a regular spot of mine if I were local.

Food was very good and flavorful, with generous portions-- just look at the size of the rice container! The price was right as well. Excellent service, able to accommodate vegan diets (just ask for no ghee/dairy), and we were happy to get a complimentary dessert!

The food is pretty good every time but always takes longer than the estimated time. We even came 10 minutes later thinking that would be enough time. This instance ended up taking 20 minutes longer than the expected but I’ve had to wait longer than that multiple times

Food is okay but service is so slow and we just didn't feel welcomed. Didn't realize they were a takeout only restaurant and the person working made us feel like we were an inconvenience. First and only time giving them a try, there are much better and more welcoming Indian restaurants in the area.

You can now dine in at Maharaja! They had been takeout-only for a while. AND they have merged with Wing Express (near the UConn campus) and offer an array of wing sauces for wings or boneless tenders. I can vouch for the garlic parmesan sauce -- it is excellent. I've had Maharaja's butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, aloo gobi, paneer pakora, naan, and mango lassi. ALL absolutely fantastic. My favorite, though, is the butter chicken. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and the staff adheres to your preferred spice level. The staff and owners are truly wonderful people and I look forward to many more meals here.

Takeout Only! Ignore old reviews saying there's a buffet, because there isn't. That being said, 5 stars on the food and service! I got chicken vindaloo, which came out perfect, and with the naan bread that is easily enough for two lunches. So the price is very reasonable! Can't wait to go back and try some of the lamb and goat dishes. Great location right by the lake, if you remember to ask for a fork (I didn't 😂), it's super convenient to take to a picnic. Props to the owner for doing the cooking as well as running business, it can't be easy
