I still remember when Los Cabos first opened its doors in 2005, back when the Riverwalk was just starting to find its rhythm. It was exciting—a little slice of Los Cabos, Mexico, right here in Tulsa, complete with live music and the promise of something special. That first visit was also my last—until now. In fact, it was the location of my very first date with my wife. Back then, I wasn’t even married yet, and now, nearly two decades, three kids, and a whole lot of life later, I finally returned.

Why did it take me 19—almost 20—years to come back? I honestly couldn’t say. I live close by, I drive past it nearly every day, yet for some reason, it never called me back. But today, for a business meeting, I decided it was time. Time may fly, but it also leaves its mark, and I could tell Los Cabos had aged—not in a bad way, but in a way that says, "I’ve been here, I’ve weathered the years, and I’m still standing." It was good to see it thriving.

At its core, the place felt the same—so much so that I had mixed feelings. Nostalgia is a tricky thing. While I was hoping the food hadn’t changed, something about it wasn’t as vibrant as I remembered. The menu was crowded with options—so many that it felt like it was trying to be everything at once. We settled on some lunch specials, and I had just enough time for a quick walk to the restroom and back. The dĆ©cor? Still holding onto its character. That, I appreciated.

But the food. Ah, the food. I hate to say it, but my tacos leaned more Tex-Mex than the Mexican flavors I had once associated with this place. The sauces lacked punch—one had spice, sure, but it missed the basics, like salt or even a whisper of garlic. It all teetered on the edge of fast-food quality, at least in the case of the tacos I had.

Would I come back? I think so. Some places earn a permanent spot in your heart, not necessarily because of the food, but because of the memories attached to them. For me, Los Cabos will always be the setting of my first date with my wife. I just wish they would lean into more authentic, standout dishes—the kind that make people fall in love, not just with the atmosphere, but with the flavors themselves.

That being said, the service was top-notch. Our waitress was a powerhouse—genuine, kind, and always keeping our drinks filled without us having to ask. And the bathrooms? Exceptionally clean and well-kept (which, let’s be honest, can make or break a restaurant experience).

So yes, Los Cabos is still a gem—but maybe one that could use a little polishing.

Right when we walked in I knew it would be a fantastic experience. It smelled wonderful! We were greeted by the owner who was so nice and welcoming. We were seated at a table that afforded a great view of Mexican art. Family owned and run and the service, food just every single thing about this place and our experience was great!

We stopped in for lunch. It took awhile for our server to greet us then to take our order. Sadly this set the tone for the rest of our lunch. It was hard to get refills and finally it took awhile to get our check to pay. We ordered white queso to start with the chips and salsa. The Littles had a kids burrito and hamburger. Mrs. Flip Out had the lunch Mexico City Tacos. I decided on the Trash Can Nachos and were disappointed with them.

This review is the Jenks location.
It had been about 8 years since my last visit to a Los Cobos and again, the food did disappoint.
We ordered the loaded nachos and a 2 beef taco lunch meal. We also requested no cilantro. The nachos came served with brisket, cheese, and tomato chunks (picture added). We requested jalapenos and were given freshly cut because they were out of pickled (what Mexican restaurant runs out of jalapenos). They didn't put any pico on the nachos since they were heavy on cilantro, but also do not have a no cilantro alternative, like onions, peppers, etc.
The tacos look really good, but oh my the chili powder seasoning was so strong I had to add rice and beans to the taco to eat it. Is there anyone that really likes that much chili powder seasoning? That is all I could taste.
The staff were accommodating, since we were seated at a dirty table with sticky stuff and chips all over it and requested another table. Our server was attentive and nice as well.
The manager really didn't seem to care about my feedback and shrugged it off as, "Oh well!"
I really hoped it was going to be good since the porch would be awesome when the weather warms up.

NO, I would not recommend this location.

Solid 3 star. Not sure why you guys can't fill a small tortilla with the meat that we pay $20 for. It's just sad. Food is good quality, so that's worth something. Broken Arrow branch does a much better job at preparing dishes. If you can, go to the Hillside location and avoid this location. If not, expect half tacos for full price. Sorry guys. This has happened too many times.

We ate there after about 4 hours of walking around the outlet mall. It felt good to sit & have some iced tea and chips & salsa while waiting on our meal. The ambiance is nice looking out over the Arkansas river with the option to set outside if desired. The food was good, portions were good & prices reasonable. Our waitress was great. We would go back again.

This location is consistently good. Stays busy, has ample staff, great drinks, great location, and solid Tex-Mex food. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is the chips are too thin for me. They have trouble holding up when scooping up the guacamole. They pair best with the salsa, so I’m not really complaining as they do usually taste good.

Professional, Americanized-Mexican Food. VERY High-quality taste.
Food priced from $10-$20.

Service may be overworked/slower due to this restaurant being a popular hotspot.

There are live music performances included in outside seating locations; Quite nice!!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty well- BUT THE VIEWS ONLOOKING-TOWARDS THE ARKANSAS RIVER IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL. ✨✨

And, The parking is sufficient and you shouldn’t worry about finding a parking spot.

Overall, nice, fancy place with an amazing view. With high-quality tasting food as well. šŸ˜‹šŸŒ®šŸŒÆšŸ«”
