Longbow Resort is a unique boutique resort that is remote, secluded and the perfect place to COMPLETELY unplug. There are four different cabins. There are two pairs that are located in close proximity to each other. Three of the cabins are really designed for two people, while one is ready to accommodate four with two queen beds. The individual identity of each cabin has its own charms, but all of them are very connected to the nature around them. The two cabins near a ridge have cell signal IF you walk to the parking area near the ridge for some. The other two have NO CHANCE for a cell signal in the bottom of a valley. For those you would have to drive all the way up to the main field. There is no Internet, satellite, or over the air TV. There is a small selection of DVDs in each cabin, but I highly suggest you bring some DVD if you're interested in watching anything. I also recommend taking board games, cards and more to engage or entertain your time. Each cabin has a fire pit and wood is available on property. I also HIGHLY recommend driving a vehicle with good ground chance and four wheel drive. There are many large bumps, rocks and rough road. Cars or vans with low clearance or poor tire tread could find themselves with problems. With that said, it's a REALLY fun drive if you've got an off road vehicle (we drove in a Ford raptor and it was a BLAST!) I must say that you will not find anywhere quite like Longbow Resort anywhere else. Each cabin has the natural rock and stone built directly into the cabin. It's probably more accurate to say the cabins are built directly into the rock. Both Ben (the owner) and Benjamin (his son who lives on the property) we're EXTREMELY friendly, accommodating and helpful! We got the chance to see a comet while we stayed and it was amazing! Even if the disconnected style of vacation is not traditionally you, you've got to try this place at least once. You'll fall in love with the way these cabins connect with nature and help you unplug from the world and reconnect with people.

We took all of our employees and rented all four cabins for the weekend. My husband and I had been a few times before and absolutely love this place. All of my people did also. We had the BEST time just watching the waterfall and playing in the water and just in amazement of how these cabins were built around boulders.

It would be impossible to describe the beauty of this place.|Our family stayed 2 nights at the Bushmaster during the hot July summer. The only negative is that the time there flew by too quickly!||The temperature was hot, down where the cabin was it was much more tolerable! So much natural shade made this the perfect getaway from the hussle of the outside world, which you escape entirely from when staying here. ||We took several hikes around the cabin and braved the “chill you to the bone” waters at Diana’s Pool. It was outstanding to feel completely separated there and swim in the cool waters below the beautiful waterfall.||We played board games, roasted marshmallows, and told stories at the cabin after thoroughly checking eachother for ticks. They didn’t bother us as we are used to them, but some good insect spray would have kept them away. ||Pack heavy and enjoy the beauty here. Be sure to read the articles on this interesting family and how all of it came to be the beauty of what it is today.||It was impossible to snap any photos that truly capture what the eyes see here. If you are on the fence about this place, just dive in and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed! The Pearson family is truly great for sharing this beauty! You would be hard pressed to try to find more genuine host anywhere else!

We stayed at the Sovereign cabin. A Coyote pup welcomed us when driving the trail and saw us out when we left. Deer, hawks, a family of raccoons were frequent visitors on the back porch. Very private, heavily wooded, nice 25-30 foot cliff overlook. Water has a strong iron smell and taste so bring drinking water.
It was beautiful and had really nice comfortable beds and very cool. There is a blow up bed aside from the 2 queens, but no pump for it.
Town is close with several small stores.
The owner and his son were very friendly and helpful.
I'd recommend visiting.

And on the 8th day, God created...Longbow Resort. In all seriousness, we'd never heard of this place, but if it's not on your bucket list, it should be. Our company had an unbelievable 2 days of fun and relaxation. Mr. Pearson was a wonderful host. The only negative thing we can say about the entire experience was that we had to leave.

excellent. we spent 2 nights in the sovereign cabin and it was breathtaking. the cabin being built into the canyon wall is such a cool feature, and all the little trails around the cabin were nice. Ben is a wonderful host. Only drawback is past guests have fed the raccoons so they’ll come to your door around dinner time, but as long as you keep the door closed you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. this place is great for a cell phone free, relaxing get away. very unique cabin, never seen anything like it, I highly recommend staying at Longbow!

Amazing as always. Great place to fall of the grid and reconnect. The trails are beautiful, the scenery amazing (all the waterfalls!) and the cabins are rustically incredible. We came back to stay at Bushmaster, which is my favorite. The gentle sounds of the creek running under the cabin make you feel.loke you are in a tree house. The Pearson's have a beautiful property they let you explore. It's my absolute favorite place to run away to. And we will again!

My husband and I stayed in Longbow cabin when it was first opened back in early 90's. Beautiful setting and cabin. I took a friend this summer to share the scenery and we stayed at the Bushmaster cabin. ||+I was so thrilled to look out the window in the morning and feel like I was in a movie set of Jurassic Park! Surreal! ||However, the accommodations of the cabin were lacking for the cost. Positives and negatives:|- The mattress upstairs was too hard and the futon that I slept on, was so old you could feel the slats from the frame. Bad sleep for friend and I. |- The A/C smelled moldy and wasn't cooling well, there was so much moisture in the air, our sheets felt wet. |+ I asked the son if his folks had a dehumidifier and they did buy one in the city and bring it to us which helped tremendously and he cleaned the drain on the AC which seemed to help somewhat, but the unit is in need of replacement. It is way too loud.|-In the Bushmaster and the Longbow, there is a lack of furniture in the living area. What furniture they have is not comfortable to lounge on. The decorating in the cabins is sorely lacking. Might be fine for men's taste, so should market it as rustic hunting cabin to set right expectation. Not what women would expect for a "romantic"getaway. Again the cost is way too much for the lack of ambience in the cabin.|+floors and kitchen counters were clean.|-besides full size refrigerator, no room to store supplies guests bring for kitchen.|-cabinets under sinks would benefit with cleaning and shelves installed for guests to store their food.|- when I asked for bedding for futon, they supplied a mattress pad, one sheet and light lap blanket. I was thankful I brought my own blanket and pillow.|-sheets were clean on bed but blankets smelled musty.|-the kitchen cookware was a collection of misfit supplies.|-the windows are in need of replacement in some areas because of leakage of gas between panes, fogginess and dirt.|-there is a jacuzzi tub (no shower) in Bushmaster and I couldn't use it because it doesn't look like the jet system has been cleaned and disinfected for a long, long time, if ever.|-the lighting inside the Bushmaster was terrible with different wattages of bulbs, I went to the local hardware and bought 4 LED 100 watts to put in the living area and kitchen. Made a huge difference.|-the outside lighting is also lacking. Instead of flood or spot lights, incandescent bulbs were used and to get from car to cabin at Bushmaster, it is a walk across a bridge, up rough stone steps. Pack light!|-the Longbow cabin has same issue with lack of lighting. Can lights or spot/flood light fixtures but small incandescent bulbs in them, if they work.|-Longbow cabin has drift wood for decoration that has years of dust accumulation on it, both cabins need deep cleaning.|+ I did notice when we walked through the Longbow Cabin between occupants that they did remodel the bathroom recently and looks nice.||I would like to recommend this place to everyone for the out of door experience. I cannot enthusiastically recommend, because of the accommodations. After so many years, there is a need for investment in updating the furniture and A/C and heating. Otherwise, they should change the marketing from romantic getaway to rustic no thrills stay and adjust the cost accordingly. ||The owners are a wonderful family. Very kind and friendly. When I told the owner how much I appreciated them buying the dehumidifier to use for our stay, he said a couple of times that he never had anyone complain before. Which put my request for one in question. ||As consumers, if we don't speak up and let the owners or managers of businesses know how to improve the accommodations, we are NOT doing them or future guests any favors. Brag about good service you get and inform about what needs attention. Hopefully, they will make improvements necessary and be a thriving business for decades to come and opportunity for others to enjoy.
