Spent a long 3 day fall weekend on 9/13-16/24. 70th Birthday celebration. Fabulous fall weather and otters and osprey and eagles and rising fish fish on a beautiful peaceful Williamson River. We stayed at the guest cabin right on it. Very quiet and peaceful and great hosts and owners.
I took 4 hour drift boat fishing ride. Hooked 11 fish and landed 8. 5 fish were over 22 inches. Lost 3 more. Best fish were 24, 25 and 26 inches and the biggest was a 30+ inch 12+lb Redband Buck that took 10 minutes to land. Considered a monster for that river. Guide Ryan Keelin was great. Thanks so much,

Lonesome Duck is an incredible property, just steps from the Williamson River. One of the best trout fisheries in the lower 48, have been drifting flies for decades here to trout that average over 20” and grow to 15 lbs+. To have free pram access to this stretch of river is worth the room rate by itself. ||We were in the Arrowhead Cabin which is a quaint 2/1 with beautiful views, quiet, serene, private. The bird houses supplied a steady stream of swallows and other activities. The gas Weber on the porch plus full kitchen inside was more than ample. Plan to bring your own groceries as there are not many restaurants around here, but condiments and coffee filters are stocked. ||Caretakers Jeff & Tracy were kind, professional and helpful when needed. A++ would definitely stay here again.

Where to begin if you're preparing to experience the splendor of Crater Lake look no further for accommodation than the Lonesome Duck Ranch. This quiet, peaceful, and absolutely tranquil ranch is not a place to miss it will make your stay in Crater Lake memorable beyond words. A cabin on the river with all the comforts of home but with the charm of days long past, you won't find a TV with a 1000 channels but you will find a cozy fireplace, comfortable accommodation, and a breath taking setting. I highly recommend a stay at the Lonesome Duck Ranch I know I will stay again and am proud to recommend that others enjoy the experience we had here.

If you are looking for a quiet and beautiful respite from the world, the Lonesome Duck ranch is for you. The Rivers Edge cabin that we stayed in was spacious and immaculate. It takes a day or so to unwind from the world so book a few days at least. We have already booked our stay for next year. Remember to bring some groceries because their is a great kitchen and dining area and you won’t need to drive into town. If you do want to eat out some night, we really enjoyed the food at the small casino about a mile or so down the road. And if you are driving from the north of Klamath Falls and you have not seen Crater Lake yet, by all means, stop on your way down. The lake is spectacular and pictures do no do it justice. ||||At the ranch the Williamson river is gorgeous right outside your back door and it was fun being able to walk to the river and throw a line in. And the dark skies, oh my gosh, the stars were a canopy above us and the Milky Way was so vibrant. It was magical. And if you like to fish, Steve will set all that up for you with a fantastic guide. Our guide Charles Storey was excellent! And so patient and he put my wife and me on to the biggest rainbow trout we have ever caught. And the fall colors were magnificent. Perfect relaxing cabin on the river! Enjoyed sitting on the porch at Arrowhead Cabin and watching the river go by. Steve, Jeff and Tracy were so nice and accommodating. Also, would highly recommend a morning fly fishing with Charles on the river. Also, close to beautiful Crater Lake. If you are looking a peaceful place this is it!

This is the perfect spot for a relaxing family or couples getaway. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin right on the river and it was perfect. A great yard area for kids to run and lots of bird houses to watch birds come and go all day. You can’t beat the fishing right out your door. Such a relaxing spot. The house is perfectly appointed and comfortable. We will definitely be back!

This is the place to enjoy nature, great views. Very nice log cabins along the Williamson River. Saw Bald Eagles nesting, didn't fish but I was told it is highly regarded by fly fishermen for the trout. Steve and Debbi were wonderful hosts. Will definitely come back to see if the fishing is as good as it is reported.
