It was awesome! Beautiful hunting Lodge and B & B on 3,000 acres with beautiful trees, dogwood and wildlife. Mary was very nice, knowledgeable and accomodating. Quail hunting was going on the 2 days of our stay, but did not effect us. Girls on the staff very nice and rooms were kept clean and comfortable. Mary, Melissa and Dawna gave 5 Star * service! We will be back. Nice "off the beaten path" place to relax with excellent Southern hospitality.

Passing through on our way to Florida. Originally was trying to find a place in Valdosta Florida, but they were all booked. So we decided to drive a bit out of our way to this very charming lodge. Their main purpose is for hunters and fishermen. My first thought was wow, not what I would expect for a bunch of hunters! (There is also a golf course). They are offering a bed and breakfast stop for people like us. ||They are literally out in the woods. With dirt roads. As you turn into their drive you will see a most beautiful landscape. This property is gorgeous. ||To greet us we met Mary, who was very welcoming! Couldn’t have had a better host. Breakfast was delicious!! ||The main part of the house is air conditioned, our bedroom seemed a bit stuffy, but we were able to open a window. There was a ceiling fan as well. Not sure how this might feel in the hot summer months. If you use a hair dryer, be sure to bring one. ||Our bedroom was clean and comfortable. I don’t usually notice things like sheets, but these were really thick and so soft. Loved them. Bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows.||Mary suggested a nearby restaurant for dinner. Just a 10 minute Drive. Friendly people and great food.

Absolutely lovely! The grounds and lodge are amazing. We loved the freedom to use the entire lodge facility and the place is pet friendly. The room prices are also very reasonable. Mary, the manager, was extremely nice and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this place as an overnight stay or for a long visit if you want to hunt or simply explore the lovely grounds or hit some golf balls!

I stumbled upon this place while trying to find a hotel near Valdosta. Thank God they were all booked otherwise I would not have had the opportunity to have stayed at this amazing location. when I first contacted Mary about our stay I told her " I do not stay anywhere without a review." She assured me I would not be disappointed. I didn't realize how right she was! Live Oak Plantation has been known as a premier sporting destination for over twenty years. They are now venturing into the bed and breakfast side of things aiming to fill the void between hunting seasons. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the private cabin. The interior was absolutely gorgeous. Greeted with fresh baked cookies was a good start! From the double sided fireplace, to the enclosed sun porch, to the whirlpool tub! Four bedrooms, one upstairs, each having their own en suite bathroom, and TV. All clean and spacious. The master was large, with the whirlpool tub overlooking the pond and cow pastures. The cabin was filled with taxidermy and antiques. The kitchen was adequate with a professional coffee maker, and other basics. The beds were clean and comfortable. The pillows were fluffy and the sheets were the thickest I've ever slept in. Bath towels were plentiful, luxurious and clean. There were soaps and shampoos as well. The wrap around porch overlooks the golf course and the abundant (3,800) acres. The deck outback is right on the pond for easy fishing. Included in your stay is a wonderful breakfast served by a caring and professional staff. I hate to even call them "staff", as by the end of our stay we felt more like friends. The breakfast and dinner was home cooking at it's finest, served eloquently in the dining room of the main lodge.||Your stay includes use of the lodge amenities including the entertainment room where we enjoyed a glass of wine while shooting a game of pool. We explored the lodge rooms also and each one of them were beautiful. The lodge itself was full of taxidermy and antiques as well, with comfortable seating for large gatherings. Every area inside and out was clean and well maintained. The location is peaceful and a short drive on unpaved road. It's close enough to the main highway for easy access and far enough away to feel like you are in another world. It is great for the outdoor person or the bookworm. Peace and quiet abounds. As you can tell we loved this place! It has something for everyone and we are already planning a family reunion here. Thank you Lucy for your delicious food and friendly conversation. Thank you Mary for making us feel so welcome and going out of your way to accommodate us.

We we're traveling from Atlanta back home to Lakeland and like to break up the trip with 2 boys....we found this 3000 acre plantation with fishing lakes and were all in! The price was the same as a hotel in Valdosta....but wow! I felt like I was at a family homestead in this 6 bedroom gigantic house. Mary had cookies in the oven as we arrived and was the best hostess. My boys grabbed their poles and were off for the afternoon while I sat on the porch reading and listening to the wind blowing through the pine trees. The next morning we had a delicious home cooked breakfast and the boys didn't want to leave. We are definitely planning a long weekend to return. Away from it all.....loved it!
