When staying anywhere on this property be aware. If you have any friends or family that wish to visit you for the day they will be charged a 20 dollar gate fee. It is not disclosed up front, if you want to visit family and stay in a cool resort. Remember they are going to charge your family and friends 20 bucks just to come visit. As this is a family resort many people travel to that also have family in the area be aware.

The lakehouses are excellent. I like that there’s enough things on site that you
Don’t necessarily have to go off site and I appreciate that they have EV chargers.

We booked the Junior Suite for the 4th of July week. On the Legacy website, it is advertised that this suite sleeps 4. Even when you search for rooms for 4 guests, this comes up as an option. When we arrived, we quickly discovered it only sleeps 3. The "sleeper sofa" is a twin bed-it only sleeps one. My husband, our 7 year old and I had to squeeze into 1 bed together, while our 9 year old slept on the twin. When we went to take a shower that evening (our first night), we had no hot water. We ran the shower for 10 minutes-no hot water. The front desk sent up maintenance. Maintenance told us one of the boilers was messing up that day so he would go reset it. He also said that because we were at the very end of the resort, there wasn't enough water pressure. He then ran the showers in the 8 rooms next to us in order to get us hot water. This was after he had to run our shower for an HOUR. I brought up my concerns to the manager-the room size and no hot water. She said they were fully booked and we could cancel. It's unfortunate for the price they charge for the rooms, that hot water and accurate room descriptions aren't provided. We were a victim of "bait and switch". I even said that to the manager and she simply responded with "Oh no. We have more guests checking in this afternoon so you should have hot water then." How is that right? We paid for a room to accommodate 4 guests and have hot showers. We have to wait for other people to arrive to not have a cold shower? I showed the manager the false adverting on their site and asked for it to be updated so others don't fall for the same inaccurate room description. She simply responded with "okay". She was completely unbothered. I'm sure if it was her money, she would care. Thank you Legacy for ruining our 7 year olds birthday trip. I'm sorry that asking for hot water and proper sleep accommodations was "too much" to expect for a hotel that charges well over $250 a night and that your only solution is for us to cancel the rest of our trip.

We cant say enough about the LakeHouses at Legacy Lodge Lanier. We brought our teenage children and we had a fantastic weekend. We loved the lakehouses, we got golf carts so fun, we did the jet skis, ate at Landshark saw fireworks, and Enjoyed the waterpark and arcade. Glenna and Lucas at the front desk so helpful and kind. We loved Sidneys for breakfast with a special thanks to Seble the Manager. Friendly, helpful, wonderful staff, cozy lakehouses and lots to see and do. Thank You for a Fabulous Vacation.

The place was very nice and the staff was very courteous and professional. If you stay at the Villas ask for a upstairs room because downstairs is 2 sets of stairs for those with disabilities like me.
The food and service at Bullfrogs was great and big portions. The frozen drinks were the BEST !

Beautiful and picturesque location offset by many flaws. The “resort” is far from what it could be. It’s poorly managed and operated and the hotel properties and rooms are dated and basic with few amenities. For a hotel that seems to host many events and weddings at the same time, and therefore hosts a large number of guests, they are surprisingly ill equipped to accommodate more than a small number of people. The restaurant and bar options are very few, and what they do have is materially understaffed and undersized. The lake houses are portrayed and advertised in a way that strongly imply a golf cart is included (or available to rent). But it’s not included and if you don’t rent one well in advance they seem to be often unavailable. The lake houses are miles from the main hotel or anything else, so walking anywhere is not an option. If you come with only one vehicle but multiple people, good luck. To go anywhere, you all must all ride together at the same time. If you are on different schedules or want to do different things, there’s no way to get anywhere without a car. Overall a disappointing stay. A new owner could easily make improvements to the facilities and operation of this property and turn it into something really great. Under current ownership and management, it’s not worth staying here.

I would not recommend staying here. I tried to book online but never got a confirmation screen or reservation email so it appeared it never went through. However I was charged $346 for a no show. I contacted the hotel to discuss to which I was passed around several times. Then was told that they are not able to do anything at all since it was an "online booking". Again I explained I never got a confirmation and was told that was on me. I asked for a manager to call me back which they did the next afternoon but again refused to be of any help and explained it was my fault.
