My boyfriend bought a 1/2 acre lot there and he's in tears because he doesn't know if he'll ever be able to get us there because of the "ROADS" there.
He bought the land there to "RETIRE" and be happy as the view there he tells me is as he put it: "A HILLBILLIES DREAM",
But now I'm extremely worried about him having a nervous breakdown from all the stress he's been through getting us here, and being harassed by one the "LAKE PATROL PEOPLE" here as he really wants this dream to become a reality for us,
And not the NIGHTMARE that he's currently seeing us in now.
"UPDATE"
We called:
The "COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICE",
The "SHERIFF'S OFFICE",
The "COUNTY JUDGE'S OFFICE",
The "LAKEMONT SHORES OFFICE
(Which has been disconnected)",
Even called who he bought it from:
The channel "A.G.T PROPERTIES"!
And they all said there's nothing they can/will do about the roads to the "1/2 acre land" there that he paid "$3,500.00" for,
But the county sure wants you pay "PROPERTY TAXES" on it, for what?!!
"ADVICE"
"DON'T GET SWINDLED BY THIS SCAM AS HE AND OTHERS HAVE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY"!!!

My parents bought 2 lots there about 35 years ago when they had began this resort and it used to be a nice place with lots of amenities, however, it is totally run down now and they are currently in receivership, which basically means bankruptcy. Just recently my father was notified that he had until the end of this month (July 2020) to remove his boat and hydro lift from the boat dock stall as all the boat docks are in violation of Grand Lake rules and has to be torn down, including the heated fishing dock. There are no longer any utilities anywhere at the resort, no electricity, no water and the bathrooms (which are also run down) are totally locked up and there is no access due to having the water and electricity shut off due to non payment. It's a mess people. I feel so bad for my dad and so many others who are members.

My parents purchased their lot in the 80's.
We had Many, many family outings there.
In the early 80's, there was a Nice Clubhouse, miniature golf, paddle boats, two swimming pools, tennis courts, a large pavilion with grills and picnic tables, heated fishing docks, campsites, a store, boat docks.
They had things to entertain an entire family, from toddlers to grandparents.

Most of those things are no longer in existence.

It’s been over 25 years since I’ve been here, my grandparents own two lots down at Lakemont Shores, my wife and I thought we’d make a trip down to look at my grandparents lots...I was very disappointed!!! 1) The office wasn’t open on the busiest weekend of the year. 2) I’m very disappointed in the roads or lack of roads I was afraid of taking my 2WD truck down the steep washed out roads of fear of not getting back up, the lots are not clearly marked, needless to say I wasted my trip, let’s get this together people, Thank you

Looks better then 2 years ago. Bad on bathrooms an any other amenities. Does not make people clean their lots. Trashy in some places.
