Curiously quaint place, a bit like going back to 1965. . But clean, shower decent, tiny beach nice. And friendly people with a nice dog. Flowers very pretty outside of cottages. owner wonderfully helpful when I left my favorite hat behind. and I had a great swim in Lake Erie with. An amazing sunset viewed from their quiet private beach.

If you are looking for a reasonable place to stay near Lake Erie, this place is great!! The owners treat you like family and acknowledge you by name when they see you. The beach is fabulous and private! I had all of my children here and I was able to set them free on the beach without any worries. They get up here each morning and clean the grounds, wipe down every flower planter and landscaping. The housekeeping came by first thing and exchanged dirty towels and rags for new ones without a request. I would love coming back to this place and recommend them to anyone compared to any of the places we looked at within a mile of here.

My family stayed at Lakeland Lodges for an overnight on an extended road trip. The owners were incredibly personable, flexible and welcoming and our small cabin was quaint and rustic, but also clean and complete with all of the basics (including a small coffee maker, mini-fridge, hairdryer, and shampoo). We a great time playing on the private beach and enjoying the community lawn and spent several hours sitting at the tables outside of our small cottage. We also had a fabulous time wandering around Vermilion. This is a great stop if you are just passing through or want to stay for a few days with some close friends or family. We'll definitely return the next time we come through town!

Very nice owner along with his wife. Exactly what we were looking for. Cottage was so cute and the A/C was great as well. Nice water pressure and clean beds. Definitely would stay again. And the private beach with firepit and charcoal grille was amazing with the sunset!

I stayed here on a cross-country trip while visiting the village of Mitiwanga, where my favorite aunt had spent time as a girl. (Her photos from 1926 show a place little different from today.) Lakeland was close by, so I booked a room for convenience. It turned out to be a destination itself -- a clean, simple little cabin on a green shared with other cabins, all looking out on Lake Erie. Lots of outdoor tables and chairs for admiring the view. Dick, the host, was charming and knowledgeable about the area. He helpfully provided a restaurant recommendation, which turned out to be spectacular. Definitely worth a stay!

We had a wonderful time at this little gem. The ownership couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. The cottages are modest but they get the job done. The beach is absolutely beautiful and there are many fun games sitting around to play with. We loved our stay.

We have stayed here the last 2 Labor Day weekends for 3 nights each time. Love the location and setting. It just takes you back in time to a by-gone era, it's so cute! The owners have always been nothing but accommodating. Easy to make reservations, check in and always helpful with anything you need during your stay. Planning on coming back for years to come! We've been coming here since Memorial Day weekend 2002. This is our happy place. The owners, Dick and Debbie, have welcomed us back again and again for 15 years. ||What has kept us coming back? ||A super clean property. We can always count on the cottages being clean and neat and in good repair. Same for the grounds. Everything ship shape. Even the beach is kept relatively neat. ||The beach. There are a few other cottage properties along the shore with their own beaches, but this one is the best. Plenty of room for everyone, assorted beach toys, chairs, volleyball net, swing set. Seeing as the swing set is the same one that my three year old first used so many years ago, it's aged a bit, but my thirteen year old and I used it together this summer without issue. Lots of sand to lounge on, walk on, and dig your feet into. ||Sunsets. Everyone gathers on the beach, or the bluff overlooking it, to watch the sun go down each night. Or in good weather, we often watch it descend while enjoying the water. Some nights it is less than spectacular, but every stay seems to give us at least one gorgeous sunset. ||The comfortable cottages. It seems like almost every year we have returned to some major update - one year it was new roofs, another year they replaced some of the beds with sleeper sofas, another time it was new flooring. The cottage have ceiling fans, window a/c units, and heaters for temp control. They have a variety of lighting options. The bathrooms are tiny but complete. And depending on the type of cottage you book, there are various kitchen amenities, as well as grills and picnic tables outside. There are always plenty of linens and if you need more just ask. One year we forgot our beach towels and Dick dug out enough for the whole family. In fact, anything we've ever forgotten or needed, they've been more than happy to help. ||Which leads me to Dick and Debbie and their team. Their friendliness and hospitality has been the true differentiator in the experience. Our first year there, we forgot our jackets when we went home. Our income was pretty slim then, and the prospect of buying new jackets, or even paying for FedEx, was a worry. When I called to ask about it, Debbie said no problem and stuck them in the mail, no charge to us. The housekeeping staff is always courteous and willing to bring us anything we need - and try really hard not to wake up people who are sleeping in late! And one year when one of the old windows refused to stay open and came crashing down with a shattering of the glass, Dick was fine with a late night knocking on their door. All we wanted was something to put over the window for the night as it was supposed to rain later - but Dick insisted on coming over to do the clean up, and tape cardboard over the window for the night, getting it fixed the next day. ||I could go on and on about this great place, but will leave you with this comment. I love this place so much, I wish I could live here full time.
