Hello everyone, actually my experience at the food bank was great with the exception of one employee. Let me explain. I went to the FB for my granddaughter who is a single parent of for growing boys. Every now and again things get tight in spite of her job and she requires a little help. While I was in the waiting room waiting for my number to be called I watched a young girl go up as her number was called. The employee behind the desk had raised her voice as she started talking to the girl and it caught my attention as well as many others sitting in the waiting room. You could her her telling the girl she was one day shy of her monthly waiting period. ( you can only get food every thirty days) the girl proceeds to apologize and said she didn't realize. The employee continued on telling her that the FB was for emergencies only for people that really needed it and not a monthly sopping spree like a grocery store. The girl hung her head in shame and embarrassment as she realized everyone in the waiting room was staring at her. The employee then told her you can't have any meat and after today she didn't want to see her back there again. The girl took her basket and passed by the meat counter to get what she could and carefully picking things that would stretch to feed her little family. As she grabbed the last couple of items and headed towards the door she turned her head so no one would notice she had tears rolling down her cheeks. I was the number after her and behind her through this whole process. I watched as she put her things in her car and left to go home. While putting my things in the car the woman parked next to me was commenting how sad of a situation this young girl was in. I looked at her and asked do you know that girl The woman went on to explain she knew her mother as they were co workers a few years back. The mother had become very ill and had been fighting for her social security for the last three years. Her case was now in federal court being reviewed hoping for a favorable decision. The mother also was just diagnosed with cancer and had been in and out of the hospital with some of the stays being on life support. The girl is her caregiver as her father had passed away five years earlier. She also has two younger brothers at home fourteen and fifteen years old that she cares for as well. She has a job at McDonald's but had only been given twelve hours in the last two weeks. Thank God her mother's house is paid for. However the hours she's given at McDonald's isn't even enough to cover their utilities so she's been trying to seek help with that as well. She did apply for food stamps but the state is only giving her two hundred and fifty dollars a month and with the price of food even buying sale items the food stamps don't go very far and they run out of food towards the end of the month. After hearing all of this I was outraged at that employee and the way she treated that young girl. You never know what someone is going through in life and to be treated that way and humiliated in front of all those people was totally uncalled for. It was wrong!!! This company really needs to educate their employees in kindness and compassion when serving / helping the less fortunate and needy folks of our community. I'm so saddened by this. I don't even know what more to say other than if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. Especially to those in need that already have to humble themselves to ask for help in the first place.

People are friendly and I really love the new benches outside and the chairs inside are way more comfortable while waiting in line I appreciate all you volunteers do for us less fortunate. God bless you all

WOW.
Just - wow! You get to choose your own food! Just like shopping like6 a real person.
Update after volunteering
Ladies are so vicious and unwilling to give even x bottle water to people waiting outside in the heat when line literally around lot as well as inside. Don't really think they "steal" best of anything - ya know they work for free - but at end of day I did get a little extra fluids for helping out.

Unfortunately I had to go here for some food, these people are absolutely wonderful, helpful and make sure that you have everything that you need if they have it. The only drawback is that they put it in a push cart and you have to unload it in your own car and for anyone that might be disabled could have a problem here. Other than that it's a wonderful place for those who need food.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. Most of the time they seem like they don't even want to be there. I've seen them make some clients cry and feel shamed just for seeking help with groceries once a month. It's a food bank for a reason, and people have every right to go there when necessary. If could give ZERO stars, I would.
