We had a great time. We booked the ski in/out villa but there was no snow because summer. The spa was nice as was the sushi restaurant. We did the paragliding over the volcano and tried the fried walrus. The baked puffin was better. As for a room overlooking the pool and French restaurant. Much nicer than the old hotel that was shut down.

The only hotel on the island. There are two types of rooms, a shared kitchen, same building as the airport itself. There is Starlink wifi, 100mbps download speed

OK, this is not your usual hotel. You would not stay here in normal circumstances. But you are in a unique and very remote wildlife location.||||Yes, there are no private bathrooms. But while we were there, the bathrooms were always very clean. The wifi worked well while we were there and better than I have experienced at some high end hotels. I could stream NPR when I returned in the evenings. Free access to washer and driers. Unlike some other reviews, our rooms were made up daily. Fresh towels always available in laundry room. Not very busy when we were there, so despite thin walls, it was very quiet.

I visited Saint Paul Island for four days in July, as part of a birding trip around Alaska - and it was without doubt my favourite part of the trip. Largely due to remoteness...||And given the remote setting, the King Eider Inn fairs really well. It is in the same building as the airport, or is the airport in the same building as the hotel? It’s got a reception area/shop which was hosted by a friendly girl when I was there, while you can purchase t-shirts etc as souvenirs too. What’s also good about the place is its snugness - it is warm, which is what is needed after a day of being battered by the elements. Rooms are simple and clean, with bathrooms being shared but immaculately clean. And what’s more, if you want to do your laundry it is free...||There’s a small communal lounge where you can relax if needed, but given the daylight and 15 hour days of birding I essentially used the hotel just to sleep! WiFi was variable, from good on the first evening to non-existent when I left. But that’s what you get with Saint Paul, a rather charming unpredictability...

Yes, the rooms are small, with single beds. Yes, the bathrooms are down the hall, and they were clean. Yes, temperature for 4 rooms is controlled in one, but we were comfortable. Yes, carpet needs attention/replacement. The wi-fi worked, the coffee maker worked until the pot disappeared on the 4th morning. The weather was good, so we didn't spend any time in the lounge with TV. Our room was kept clean (beds not made if any personal item left on them, and maybe no service on Sunday). This is a quite adequate accommodation, especially so given the remote location, with everything arriving by small plane or by boat. Most birders have experienced far worse conditions in mainland US.||Meals were at Trident Fish Processing. There was a wide variety and it was well-prepared.

The King Eider Inn was all I needed when on St-Paul Island. I had a room with a bed and air conditioning. More importantly a short walk down the hallway was a bright room with clean sinks, clean toilets and clean, private showers with hot water. I wasn't there to stay in my room. I was there to photograph birds. Having the clean washing facilities was a bonus. ||There was a room where we could watch TV, if we wanted to. There was a laundry room. Who cared about these things. Get me to the cliffs during the day and my room at night and I'm happy.

Do not underestimate how remote St. Paul is. Do not arrive without a reservation as this is the only game in town. Do not expect to be waited on nor to have choices on room size, amenities etc.... This Hotel is a basic room with a bed. Do study ahead about the Culture and history of the region. The Native's have pride and a degree of mistrust towards outsiders. I spent many years as a commercial fisherman in the Bering Sea and saw first hand the many mistakes that outsider's make. Yes, it is expensive in St Paul. Yes, it can be cold and windy. Yes, it is remote. Two Groups generally stay at this hotel; Commercial Fishermen and Birders. Unbelievable rewards are enjoyed by both groups. Again, expect a rural Island with little in the way of choices. Be aware most of life in the Pribilof Islands revolve around the weather. BE PREPARED for delays in air service. Personally I always enjoyed my stays in St Paul.

St. Paul Island is rich with history, going way back. I was there as part of a small cruise boat, and visited the wonderful museum, which is right next door to the classic Russian Orthodox Church. The gift shop is a plus, with a good selection of stuff, considering how remote St Paul Island really is. The seal rookery, only a mile away, is the real attraction.
