The experience at Katmai Trophy Lodge is exceptional. James, Sage, and the entire KTL staff work tirelessly to ensure their guest enjoy the trip of a lifetime. Their knowledge of the local fishery and where to go based on the fish migration patterns is off the charts. We're all ready planning our return next year!

One of the best experiences I have ever had. The lodge and accommodations were excellent, friendly staff, great food and overall an experience of a lifetime. Caught fish everyday and the guides were all top notch and fun to be with. Highly recommended for a fishing experience and to get away from everyday life and relax. Upon my arrival I was welcomed by James the owner, the guides and the cook. |The food & accommodations were great. Coffee/tea & hot choc always available. |The Fishing and Bear viewing was superb! |The fishing guides were professional and were great teachers. They taught me to swing a fly and be successful. |I was able to catch my first 30" Rainbow in the US.|Each evening in the Great Room the guests would visit over cocktails & tell fish stories. We were asked which species we wanted to target the next day.|The Johnson Family have an Awesome Operation to enjoy & explore the Great North.|Gottacatchemallbob will be back "Still reliving the experience.." This has become an annual trip for us.We have been to the both the River Camp and Trophy Lodge. If your looking for great guides, great fishing this is the place. The food and accommodations are good. We come to Alaska to fish not be pampered by 5 star accommodation and gourmet chefs. Best of all King Salmon is easily accessible by Alaska Airlines. No getting stuck in Anchorage or the "fishing lodge" due to bad weather (which has happened to me multiple times). And I can use my air miles for travel, saving thousands over hiring a bush pilot to take me to a remote lodge and back.

Where do I even start? Staying at KTL was one of the best experiences of my life. James runs a great lodge and has an awesome staff. The guides are from all over and are happy to share fishing knowledge for any species you can imagine. They can flat out put you on fish. Plus, you know they have the best guides around when guides from other lodges ask for advice while you're on the river. And it's not just the guides. All the staff is top notch and very friendly. Hunter prepared incredible dishes for breakfast and dinner. Fresh seafood paella, black currant pie, and perfectly prepared steak, to name a few. You certainly will not go hungry. If you want the best experience possible fishing in Alaska, look no further. KTL is simply amazing.

I went in July 2022. Amazing people. James accommodated our need to not fish. Brooks falls was amazing. Loved taking the boat to Katmai. Tyler was an amazing chef. ALL meals were amazing! All our guides were amazing. Would highly recommend for fishing or no fishing. Would definitely stay again. Maybe I will try fishing next time.

Had a blast with family and friends at this lodge. Great fishing and James really tailors your trips to your liking. If you want to have a shot at the biggest rainbow trout of your life as well as multiple different salmon species this is the place to be. Various different fly out options as well if you would like a day or two at a different location. Top notch guides at a top notch location. Highly recommended.
