Been twice so far, food is hot, fresh and delicious. If i was rating on food alone, id give 5 stars. Service is kind of spotty however. My party of 2 was sat before two other groups of two, and both of them had their orders taken first and got their food first. We had to ask twice for a dipping sauce that is supposed to come with the chicken lollipop appetizer. We didnt get our drinks until after the main meal arrived. It wasn't overly busy, either, it just seemed like a matter of incompetence to be honest. We will be trying out other Indian places nearby next time.

Stopped in on a whim. Definitely nothing to look at. None of the TV's were on, nothing on the walls, very cold inside. When we arrived there was a gentleman on the phone. We had never been there before so we didn't know how the seating worked. He just stared at us so we sat ourselves. Apparently he was the only one. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting for him to check out people he finally came back and took our order. Chicken Tikka, chicken with cilantro, calamari, chicken tenders and samosa chat. Once ordered the food came out hot and fast within 15 minutes. Everything was excellent. Suggestion would be to have the samosa chat slightly warm instead of cold. Prices were good. Stop in and try.

I had a wonderful meal at Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar. I ordered two dishes, the vegetable chettinad and aloo paratha. The restaurant offers three spiceness levels - mild, medium, and hot. I asked for hot which was perfect for me.

The vegetable chettinad is vegetables cooked with spices in a creamy sauce. The fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly, they had a bit of crispiness to them but the potatoes were appropriately cooked soft as they should be.

I definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for delicious Indian cuisine.

Authentic Nepali-Indian Cuisine with a Warm Atmosphere!

Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar is a hidden gem in Storrs! The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious—full of authentic Nepali and Indian flavors, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection.

We tried the chicken momo, and they were hands-down the best we’ve had outside of Nepal—juicy, flavorful, and served with a rich dipping sauce. The goat vindaloo had the perfect balance of spice and tenderness, while the daal makhani was creamy and packed with deep, comforting flavors. The naan was soft and warm, making it the perfect accompaniment to our meal.

The boti kabab was tender and well-seasoned, and the hakka noodles added a delightful Indo-Chinese twist. The highlight of our meal was the duck tandoori, which was smoky, juicy, and perfectly cooked in the clay oven.

The drinks were also fantastic, and the bar had a great selection of cocktails to complement the meal.

If you’re looking for a place with authentic Nepali-Indian cuisine, great service, and a cozy atmosphere, Kathmandu Kitchen and Bar is the place to go. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back soon!

Highly recommend! Chicken chettinad was super tender and flavorful, momo was heavenly, and mango lassi complimented everything well.

Service was polite and attentive. Everything served hot, fresh, and quickly!

Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area.

Best Chicken Tandoori in town, easily one of the top 3 restaurants in Storrs, maybe the best overall. If you like Indian food you’ll LOVE this place. Staff is friendly, especially the owner who is also the man making the magic happen in the kitchen. I try to eat here once a week, to treat myself after a long day. They are also the only legitimate food option after 9.30. And they have a full bar with decent selections of beer and some surprising wines.

The food tastes great from what we've ordered. For the most part the value has been pretty good as well and prices have been pretty on par with the Indian restaurants we used to order from in MA. However if you're getting delivery I'd avoid the chicken lollipops as it's $10 for literally 3 chicken wings.

I think I came here once and it was good. But the mighty have fallen. Laughable portions given the price and the fact that it’s below average Indian food. It was cold and bare inside.
