The rooms are ok at best. They don't smell and look clean if that's the barometer you are looking for. Everything looks dated and super basic. There's no daily room service and the nearest restaurant is in the El Tovar Hotel next door. Our room was on the ground floor so although we were facing the canyon, we really couldn't see much. Second floor rooms might have a view.

The location of the Kachina is hard to beat. We were able to park right outside as well, which was very handy.||The rooms are of a decent size, but do need updating. Cleaning wasn’t entirely up to scratch in our room - we found the previous guests’ socks behind one of the armchairs and various bits of rubbish on the floor. The lack of any room servicing during a stay is also not ideal, given the prices being charged.||We didn’t really interact with any of the hotel staff apart from check-in at El Tovar, which was friendly and efficient.||Food options in the vicinity were sufficient, although would recommend booking ahead, particularly for dinner.||If it wasn’t for the location I would have to say value-wise the Kachina is not great, but the peacefulness and serenity of the location and the ease of accessing the Canyon do make it worthwhile.

This was our second stay at the Kachina Lodge. We like it because it's comfortable, super quiet, and positioned right on the Rim. Staff is always great, and I highly recommend booking the rooms facing the canyon that offer a partial view!

Parking is limited, so that's the only inconvenience. But, that's the canyon. Now go enjoy it!

The location of this place is just awesome. The sky view in the nighttime will mesmerize anybody. If you like star gazing, then you should definitely visit this place and stay a night. I didn't get the room with canyon view despite paying ~$400/night and was kind of disappointed. TV was not working in our room as we didn't get a clear reception. When I tried to call the guest services from the room, the phone was not working. So, I had to call using my cell phone.

Disgusting hotel, beds all have hair on them ( clearly sheets were not washed) . Hot water was unreliable ( only had hot water at random times) when asked about the hot water they said when the dishwashers are running there is no hot water. No body soap in shower. Cannot reach them on the phone in the room, they disconnected it.
Overall my husband and I did not sleep and was a very unpleasant place to stay. Highly recommend to stay away. Even with the amazing location on the rim would have preferred to stay somewhere else.

Stayed one night before hiking the Canyon. It is average at best. Room was clean and bed was comfy. It is right on the rim so clearly the views are great. If just passing through for a night this is your best bet. If staying longer plan way ahead and stay at the El Tovar and make reservations at the dining room! Plan way far in advance though!

Never disappoints! We bring groups of roughly 40 people here each year to tour the Grand Circle area. We try to stay here every year since it’s one of our favorites! We stay two nights. It’s right on the rim, and very convenient to the hikes, the shuttles, shopping, and restaurants.

The room had a musty smell. We cracked the window and that seemed to fix that.
The fridge did not work, it actually seemed to heat up some of our drinks and felt hot from the outside. The parking sucked. Not the standard that we're used to for those prices.
Waking up to the view made it all worth it though. Attached is a picture of the view from our room window.
Also, the rock wall was great with kids. I'm sure no one heard our obnoxiously loud children.
