Great hospitality during check in, the hosts are super accommodating and friendly, they made us feel very comfortable right away. The selection of organic groceries is simply astounding! The cabins are immaculately CLEAN and super cute, just a little dated and we felt that only added to the charm. As other reviews stated, the bed is VERY firm. Important to note a couple things we didn't know ahead of time: only a microwave for cooking during the summer and no campfires allowed, sandwiches available, but only until 6. There is AC, a window unit that works well for cooling and a fan to increase airflow. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, especially on short notice trip planning like ours when the lodge is booked for a year in advance.

I planned to stay here, but the owners turned away my very polite 77 year old father because he said, "my son will be joining me later." They wouldn't let me reserve a campground because it was too late. My father isn't good with technology and didn't know where to go. He went to the parking lot to call me for assistance. After we got off the phone he went back to ask the owners a question. They locked the door and ignored him. We went somewhere else and didn't let it ruin our weekend.

We made a reservation more than a month in advance to go see Crater Lake. There were no vacancies in the Park of course, but then I found Jo's Motel. This was an old-fashioned strip motel, where you could park your car in a little carport next to your unit. The unit we had was two rooms. When I read the list of rules, plus they didn't allow children or pets -- I kind of figured that was why they had a vacancy. You had to check in by 7 p.m. so good thing we went straight there. I have to say the Organic Market was really cute and we picked up a few things there. When we checked in, and shopped, we weren't really welcomed. I felt like we were bothering the woman. It was odd that one of their rules was no backpackers. We saw lots of them in the area and at Crater Lake. They probably would have liked an organic market. We didn't realize that there was no kitchen in our unit but just a microwave and small fridge. Though the unit had 2 rooms, the microwave and fridge were stacked at the end of a little hallway. No cooking utensils or anything to use for microwave cooking. Since there didn't seem to be a restaurant close by, we had planned on cooking our dinners. We stay at a lot of places where you have to cook your own meals and most have proper things set out to make this easy. Lucky we had paper goods, plastic utensils and even paper towels, so we were able to manage. There was a table so that was nice. And the coffee was good, too.

It's been almost a year since my stay at Jo's, and I'm still thinking about it. Jo's was an essential part of my Crater Lake experience!

Jo's is a series of incredibly spacious (seriously--it's like an entire apartment) little "cabins" with their own carports attached to a general store (ask Jo if you can "check out" a DVD from her library when you check in!). The cabins are furnished with Oregon books, photos, and more, which is such a lovely touch. Despite what some of these (weird) reviews say about the mattresses, they're firm but comfortable. The shower honestly had the best water pressure I've ever experienced. Or, maybe I was just ready to relax after a long day of hiking... either way, it was perfect.

If you're going to spend a few days at Crater Lake, you really should stay here. I will stay here again during my next trip. Only a short drive from the National Park, incredibly affordable, and just that extra something. It's honestly magical. No TV, no internet. Just you in your cabin watching Jo's DVDs after a long day of hiking. And, yes. Jo has all your favorite movies from your childhood. Nothing hits better after a long day of hiking.

Stayed here in the summer of 2022. Owners were extremely friendly. Rooms spacious. Rates fair. The way the rooms are set up (with a car-port in between them) ensured that no noise traveled from room-to-room from other guests. This is extremely rare for most motels on the road. There was a surprisingly large selection of high quality food (including organic options), drinks (both alcoholic and not), and snacks right on site. This was great, as there isn't much else in the immediate area. And, as internet and cell service is limited or non-existent, a vast selection of DVDs available for free, with an DVD player in each room. Beautiful scenery in the area. Overall a great stay for those looking to disconnect.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Jo's to be near the Crater Lake park. The room reminded us of a Cape Cod cottage, only cleaner and better equipped to prep our own meals from the fresh, well-stocked grocery. There are no other eateries nearby. Our room had a very cozy gas heater to keep the chill out too!

Smokey air forced us to shorten our stay, and Robin & Jim were very gracious to refund our last night. They are both very nice to deal with. Thank you both.

Super cute little place. We stopped for an espresso before getting to Crater Lake National Park. Ring the bell and she will come let you in to the little convenience store. We had fun chatting, heard some local history and had a great Americano. Can't speak to the sleeping accommodations, but we enjoyed our brief stop. Highly recommend.
