Called about a water leak by our house which has been leaking for like 2-3 days now and has gotten worse. Didn’t call in sooner bc we thought maybe someone else had… but it had been days and nothing…. So we finally called.
Some older lady answered the phone, and literally said ‘what do you need?’ Don’t even say like ‘Johnson city water’ or nothing.
I said ‘Am I calling the right place?’ Bc she was rude and literally didn’t even state who she was or company name or anything… I continued on saying ‘trying to call about a water leak on..’ IN THE MIDDLE OF ME TALKING SHE CUT ME OFF AND YELLED AT ME OVER THE PHONE saying ‘we already had a bunch of calls. Someone's been out there to check’ and I went on to say ‘okay. I wasn’t sure they had. And wanted to let someone know bc I haven’t seen anyone out here and it’s getting worse’ and GOT HUNG UP ON IN THE MIDDLE OF ME TALKING AGAIN lol. My phone call was literally 23 seconds😂😭

Calling is a no go. 3 stars tho bc some of the people that work there are actually good people. 🫶🏼

This place is an absolute joke always rude when you call them will under charge you then stack up on your next bill. the trash guys apparently won’t pick up trash if the lid won’t close all the way and isn’t 3ft apart I can understand 3ft apart but the lid
Closing didn’t know picking up trash cans with a machine was such a hassle and instead talking or send a letter to residents they just decide to not pick up trash like that’s gonna make the trash go away somehow. Get better workers and honest employees.

Our sump pump was showing more water than usual so I spoke with and emailed the head of the water department. Within 24 hours, someone came out and inspected, a large crew was on site to fix the damage and the issue was resolved. Excellent service, excellent work, and great overall experience for us. We are super grateful and appreciative.

Broke my water line right at the meter on my side and conveniently notified me with a notice on my door of a water leak on my side that would make my bill higher, I was out of town, did they turn my water off? Of course not, they wouldn’t profit off of a meter running high if they turned it off.

I spoke to three other people within the same day that this exact same problem happened to, water line cracked and leaking right on the property side of the meter. This seems like a fad to me.

I’m sure I could drum up more customers that this same thing has happened to recently. You know, if they replaced the meter it would fix the problem down the line. This appears to be a money making scheme to collect more money for falsified water usage. I think everyone this has happened to in the local area should go to the city council meeting and complain about their inflated utility bill.

This same thing happened in a town in Florida several years ago. Citizens were reimbursed for the charges they incurred after taking it to city council.

CONSTANT billing issues that cause the consumer fees that they conveniently will only remove one of supposedly ever. When you call to say I’ve submitted my payment every month but the system hasn’t w/d from my account in two months all they say is it’s something on our 3rd party vendors side… so even if you pay your bill religiously you’ll still get charged late fees and have to watch your accounts like a hawk because JC utilities will do NOTHING to help or remedy the issue. You’re better off putting rain collection system on your house and hoping Mother Nature will provide your water because that’s still more reliable than this bunch of jokers. Would love to give a 0 rating but in the everyone gets a prize for participation society we live in, I have to give at least 1 star..

If I could give zero stars I would!!! I have lived at my residing address for almost 9 months and I have yet to receive a paper bill from the department. I have went down there and changed my address from my P.O. Box to my current address and still haven’t received a payment. The people in their office have no idea what they are doing and continue to transfer me to “their supervisor” who is NEVER in office to collect calls. I’m continued to be bill an extra fee because of a “late payment”, but how am I supposed to know when or how much to pay if I’m not receiving a bill? This office is very unprofessional and careless. To add on, I have a camera on my back porch where the water meter is and they claim to have on record when they’ve came and read the meter but never have. My water bill typically runs about $150 JUST FOR 2 people. That is ridiculous when I know a family member has 5-6 people staying in one house and their bill has never hit over $100. I’ve also read other reviews and noticed a reoccurring problem with other people not receiving their bill. The company is just money hungry and won’t provide any useful help. It is like they are all robots who will tell you the same thing repetitively. Somebody needs to come review how this department operates and handles situations like this.

I called twice because my renters water bill was exactly $78.61 cents with exactly 42 usage for the past 2 months. I also fixed a leak in that time. Some stupid lady was very rude to me just because I was trying to get someone out there to check and advocate for my renters. What a real gaslighting jerk. Both of them. A rock could do a better job.
