Try this Indian restaurant in Albany, Georgia. It’s a small, authentic taste restaurant across from Albany State West campus on Gillionville. I pass by here often, but I never can tell if they are open. Looking up food near, this place popped up and they are open. Maybe it’s because I don’t see, many people there and I’m not sure if they have a parking lot, inside dining or if this is only a drive-through, nevertheless on to the food review.

The prices were great, the food was good, portion was fair, but here’s why I dropped a star. At no fault of there’s, I am particularly not a fan of Curry. Of the meat options they have, I only preferred the lamb and without Curry so there was maybe one option for me. I know Curry is authentic to their culture and I should expect that. My wife ordered it so I’m giving the review. I wanted to try the okra but forgot to order it.

The cabbage tasted really good. Like homemade southern cabbage. The cabbage is a star.

Garlic naan bread was really good and soft. The beans in the picture are not from this restaurant, I added it from leftovers to help fill the meal out since I forgot to order the okra.

Vegetable Samosa with sauce was fair. Nothing to brag, it’s fair-no issues.

Plain rice is just what it is. Order the other rice options if you want more but typically with flavorful saucy meats, white rice is a good balance. It was cooked well.

The lamb curry was decent. It filled the hunger pains and the sauce has flavor. The meat had a good quality taste to it. When rewarming in the house, the Curry smell overpowers the house. It smelled like their kitchen in my house. That’s a great sign of seasoning, I just don’t like curry smell. Should’ve ordered the potato spinach-looked good.

This four star review is really a personal situation so if you like Curry, Indian food, chicken, goat, lamb then this place could be easily a five star for you. When I come back to this place, I’d probably order the same thing, plus okra and potato spinach. nothing I had didn’t taste good, I just wanted more for me on the menu, but that is a tall ask for a small restaurant. I’m actually giving them credit for doing quality authentic food in a small location in Albany Georgia. Maybe more road signs or yard attractions with open now signs could attract. (4.6)

Authentic Indian Cuisine & Friendly Service!

I recently visited Jessi’s Indian Kitchen, and I have to say, this place is a hidden gem! The food was fresh, flavorful, and full of authentic Indian spices. We ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan, and vegetable curry, and everything tasted like it was made from scratch with high-quality ingredients.

Yes, it’s a small restaurant, but that’s part of its charm! The woman working there was super kind and welcoming, making sure everything was to our liking. You can tell she puts heart and effort into every dish.

If you want authentic, home-cooked Indian food instead of commercialized chain food, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Everything I’ve eaten has been delicious! My favorites are the butter chicken and garlic naan bread with mango fusion for dessert. The portion sizes are great! I usually have enough leftover for the next day. They always greet me with a smile! A great asset to our community. Thank you!

The food here is so good and at a fraction of the cost. Normally on an outing with a friend or for 2 it costs 120$ at these restaurants in Florida and Atlanta. And if you are a family of four expect spending 300-450$. Indian food has been pricey as everything is real and not Burger King or McDonald’s so it might take them 25-30 min to prepare a dish. Indian food is real food and real food takes time to cook. I don’t know about the lady down there from Fl writing an article damaging our community culture and business when it was her one off trip, Love and kindness comes with words that are positive not negative and you clearly aren’t well wisher. Go anywhere else it’s 35$-50$ per person. Here you get loads of food 4 can eat at the same price. So you have to see how they’re benefiting the society with taking losses or barely any profit. I urge the local community to support the local businesses under such untruthful reviews which are one time off. I’m sorry you had to have a comment like that. Good luck and we pray your business blesses the community.

The food here was amazing and the owner is a great guy hooked me up when I wanted something spicy, and man did he deliver with the lamb and potato it was so savory and had just enough zap to tingle the taste buds!!!! Tried the butter chicken as well ot was also delicious with a hint of sweetness to it. Love the garlic bread it compliments both those dishes very well. They will definitely be seeing me there again and again love this Indian place best I have had in southern Georgia!!

Visiting from FL, decided to try Indian Food from here. Actually talked my sister into finally trying Indian Food as well. Upon arrival the place looks abandoned. The women working there looks as if she’s running a ā€œ1 women showā€. The food was cold and mediocre and I regretted spending money here. I recommend you add the main ingredients missing from your dishes which is LOVE and PASSION. I wouldn’t recommend this Indian Food to anyone who’s serious about Indian Food. Also the vegetable Curry Vegetables looks as if they are from a can. I can also guarantee this food is just premade, rewarmed to lukewarm , and then sold to consumers. Hope this helps! Save your money and go elsewhere unless very much needed changes are made.

For the only indian restaurant in Albany, this is a great establishment. Opening day was hectic for the business, I saw them having to resupply meats as I waited. I believe that this will be a great drive thru restaurant in time, but opening day was a beast they were not ready for. After talking with one of them, the people are super friendly and appear new to the dining experience. The food was well portioned for the price, but i do wish there was more naan for the price and rice. You can see my receipt for goat and shrimp curry with the mango fusion desert and garlic naan. The food was very delicious, but my wife found the shrimp too spicy, unfortunately. My recommendations for this business is to expand the building so employees are not running into each other, increase the rice and provide 2 or 3 slices of naan (any other indian restaurant provides a larger portion for the same price), and finally to have a proper way to control traffic so people do not cut or back up the highway. Overall, this was a great opening day and they did fantastic. I will return again later down the road and hope for improvements. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to satisfy that curry craving!

Me and my spouse ventured to this restaurant today because we like to support local restaurants being that 30 or more restaurants in this area have met their demise within a year. Now with that being said we will not support this restaurant again the food was good but the portions were so miniscule for the price that we will not be venturing there again. Just a heads up.
