After reading all the raves about this new local eatery, I decided it would be a nice place to try for a date night with my wife. We ordered the spinach dip with toast points as an appetizer, which came out in a timely manner. For the entrè, we ordered a prime rib and an N.Y. strip, both served with one side and a caeser salad. The ambience of the old home was very relaxed and intimate. Our server, Cole, was great. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a local, small-town steak house experience for a date night or special occasion.

They do recommend making a reservation, for it is rather busy. We will be back to try the lunch menu items soon.

This place is in a small town in Georgia called Blackshear. It's a farming county. The restaurant is set in an old Victorian 2 story house. Right now, it's decorated for Christmas. Nothing flashy, but very tasteful. The food was outstanding, the service was amazing & did I mention the food was outstanding. He had mussels for an appetizer, we both had steak, I added fried shrimp to my meal, & we shared dessert. It was well worth the price.

We decided to eat lunch here today after alot of thought. So glad we did. When we entered we were greeted, allowed to seat ourselves, and followed with menus. Sirus was very helpful through ordering and attentive while we ate. We decided on the weekly special (meatloaf, mac n cheese, greens beans) also added the 3 scoop salad. We got pimento cheese, pasta salad, and broccoli salad. Served over a spring mix with an amazing raspberry vinegarette and fruit. I'm just not sure which was better. Everything was fabulous. Pricing was very affordable! Service was exceptional! And atmosphere amazing! We will definitely be back!
My only complaint would be I will be soon wishing for a drive thru lol.

Unfortunately, yes, things happen, but this was inexcusable. I had traveled south for a pre-planned, scheduled, and booked 80th birthday party for my auntie. I actually spoke with the manager over the phone, as he called me while in CT to review the menu. When I arrived in Blackshear, I went and met with him the day before the party. He walked me through the restaurant to the area where our family party of 30 would be seated. The same evening, at 10:37 pm. I received an email canceling our party. Understand we had spoken on several occasions over the phone. My sister met him, and he also showed her where the event would happen, etc. I know these "systems" have glitches, but to find a glitch the night before a party while you are setting up for said party. Only to discover that you overbooked, so you canceled our party by email. An email that wasn't seen until 11:50 pm, the night before the party. We had family members travel from out of state, myself included, for this 80th birthday celebration gathering. If anything, the restaurant should have been closed to the public to accommodate all parties. You missed out on a $2500-$3000 ticket. Nonetheless, we were able to get a better, more accommodating venue in Alma, Ga, that gladly serviced our needs. The service and food were amazing. This venue should take note.

The potato soup was the best I’ve ever eaten. Everything was very good right down to the chocolate chip cookie. Everything was decorated beautifully. So many friends walking in. Such a pleasant surprise to see friends from Baxley and Brunswick walk in today. Only negative was Jason was not there. But our waitress was delightful. Will be back soon
