My favorite Chinese food place in Humboldt! I’ve tried a bunch of different meals here and this place is a take-out staple for me now. The chow mein is AMAZING- it’s flavorful, full of yummy veggies, and not mushy like other places. I also really like their sesame chicken!! It’s crispy on the outside and is even good for leftovers (which we always seem to have because the portion sizes are big). Hunan Eureka is reliable, fast, convenient, and consistent. Oh- and their lemonades with boba are delicious! 🙂 All in all, I highly recommend Hunan Eureka to anyone looking for diverse options for Chinese food.

The food generally is pretty good! BUT they are starting to cut corners. Our last order of Kun Pao Chicken was mostly carrots. There were literally 5 pieces of chicken in there. If I wanted to pay $16 for a box of carrots + sauce, I would have just cooked myself. See photo!! Also, the Duck was so chewy that it was basically JERKEY MEAT. UGH, prices are up, quality is DOWN.

Love love this authentic Chinese Restaurant which also serves authentic Lao and Thai food!! After their recent remodel, they have a very nice atmosphere too! Our family eats here at least twice a week and we order takeout too! I recommend you try this place out for your next lunch or family dinner! -Lucky

To be honest I’ve only picked up takeout but the employees have all been courteous and seating area appears tranquil and very clean. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. Potstickers, vegetable fried rice, and appetizer fried jumbo shrimp is my fav meal so far but every thing I’ve ordered has been good, including the mixed vegetables and the chicken chow mein. Quite possibly Hunans is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had- definitely in the top 3. There’s nothing so satisfying as getting exactly what you order, quality ingredients perfectly flavored and cooked, hot and delicious. The veggies look fantastic- are obviously very fresh. Portions are generous too, ex: I can eat 2-3 times from one to go order of the fried rice or the chow mein. Thank you to the Hunans kitchen from the bottom of my heart!

We’ve been here a few times and have had great experiences every time. The staff are friendly, the service is great, the prices are good (especially the lunch specials), and the food is tasty. Plus they have more vegetarian options than a lot of other places which I appreciate.

The atmosphere was good because there wasn't any annoying music playing. I had the chicken fried rice and it was excellent. Possibly the best fried rice I've had in Humboldt county. Chicken saute was also very good. The peanut sauce was very close to the real thing that you get in Thailand. I was very happy with the service and I will go there again.
